The sound of bird songs, sunshine in my skin, the waft of growing things, sprinklers running, the geese honking in the background, an aching heart that finds peace with grass below my feet, the longing to call my mother, to spill my heart, how silly, it’s been years really…the longing to call out to my heavenly Abba, easy familiarity with those you know are yours, early mornings with much time to ponder, to lift up endless words to My Maker. He listens, bends toward me, eager to hear, never breaks eye contact, He’s got all day, He says. Countless gifts, but I’ll keep on counting. by @lisalocklin

Candlelit mornings, my favorite movie during nap time, the way the light changes throughout that day, the sound of my sisters voice in the room, nephew giggles, a voice note with tender reflections, the familiar ache of those I miss, the waft of raspberry compote on the stovetop, crepe paper streamers I recall from childhood, a friend delivering your order by hand, a favorite verse read anew, hand picked florals, remembering the feeling of home each day, a load of laundry fresh from the dryer, learning and relearning, forgiveness that settles into your bones, a joke perfectly timed, an extra hour of sleep, golden hour, a late night conversation that brings peace, the crisp air in the changing of seasons, watching my girls grow, My Comforter- near, a favorite remembered, milestones. Countless gifts, but I’ll keep counting. by @lisalocklin

Linen Zinnia. We had one bloom this week. We planted hundreds of seeds this year, watered them, prayed over them, watered them again. Yet, one remained.

I smile, considering her a birthday gift from my Heavenly Father. 45! We exclaimed silently together, knowing how much He saved me from! And this flower, He knows my heart more than I know my own. How much the poetry and conversation of this little flower would be our own inside story.

I’ve stared at her all week. Watching the sunlight catch her petals, seeing the changing colors of her in different daylight. The way she looks in the moon-glow when I’m tired from a long day of worthy work, walking the garden, still asking so many things. I wonder as I wake, if she is still growing, still reaching for the sun. Does everyone notice her beauty as they walk past? Or do we move too quickly to see her color changed since last week. And I’m reminded to slow my pace. To drop the weights.

To remember to be child-like, to be a daughter, His daughter. His friend. His lover. My life’s work. Tender work, that meets me in each breath. A life-giving presence that never leaves me or forsakes me. Who understands me. Who protects me. Who calls me His own.

My sweet Jesus, You are my treasure. To know You, what an honor, privilege, a life-altering grace. by @lisalocklin

Honeysuckle climbing with growth, a local brewed latte, an unexpected perspective shift - hallelujah, the deep sigh that followed, a timely encouragement, the sounds of morning bird songs from my bed. The opportunity to recognize my deep need for Jesus, day in, day out, unpacking old belongings like gifts anew, letting the emotions rise and fall with more ease, long suffering friends, a school dance and bouncy curls, hearing my daughter share her needs with such clarity, a daughter curated playlist, the opportunity to be renewed. An achey memory that reminded me how eternal love is. The pressure that produces growing strength. The invitation to throw off hinderances, the way his hand reaches mine in the middle of the night, a sick day offered, scripture and its goodness that stops you in your tracks - selecting seeds for a summer floral garden, seeing Jesus make beauty out of barrenness.

Bird songs at sunrise, sun drenched strawberries straight from the field, a friend’s voice as they read a timely verse, recognizing a bad habit in the moment - an invitation to throw it off, when his hand meets mine, not hitting snooze, beeswax tapers dropped off at work, a lavender plant gifted for my garden, deep sobs and Comfort that immediately meets me, remembering my mom’s lace curtains, a familiar sway, singing with my daughters in the car, heartbreak that reminds me of Abba’s nearness, a new song, a tired body from good work, an opportunity to apologize, roadside markets with spring flowers, safety that helps me be courageous, the night watch, being understood by my Maker, sharing lunch with a friend - making what we have enough, wearing a dress in the breeze, sunshine on my face, being an auntie, delighting in a warm dinner on a cold night, foundation work - of all kinds, finding a note in the bottom of your vase, the warmth and dance of candlelight, gethsemane, watching fruit ripen on the trees, the fragrance of citrus blossoms, a spontaneous date.

1 God, you are my God; I eagerly seek you.
I thirst for you; my body faints for you
in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water.

2 So I gaze on you in the sanctuary
to see your strength and your glory.

3 My lips will glorify you
because your faithful love is better than life.

4 So I will bless you as long as I live;
at your name, I will lift up my hands.

5 You satisfy me as with rich food;
my mouth will praise you with joyful lips.

6 When I think of you as I lie on my bed,
I meditate on you during the night watches

7 because you are my helper;
I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.

8 I follow close to you;
your right hand holds on to me.

9  But those who intend to destroy my life
will go into the depths of the earth

10 They will be given over to the power of the sword;
they will become a meal for jackals.

11 But the king will rejoice in God;
all who swear by him will boast,
for the mouths of liars will be shut.

My Mr. Locklin, he is strong, kind, gentle, humble, handsome, understated. He serves with great patience. He loves our family with warmth, devotion and a sacrifice that reminds me of Jesus. His integrity is admirable.

Our family has been through a great deal this year since the incident in February. The support from our family, friends and community means more than we can say.  We are relieved and grateful to share that we have reached a full resolution with Brookfield Residential.  We are looking forward to rebuilding our home in the months ahead. Thank you to each of you who has prayed, supported and extended care to us during this uncertain time. by @lisalocklin

Because of your incredible generosity with our gofundme and prayers, our home is no longer at risk of foreclosure. That alone is a miracle.

We were able to pay off the collections agency last week, and the restoration company is waiting to be reimbursed. We’re hopeful they’ll work with us to start restoring our home.

We also saw a moment of Divine provision: Brookfield paid the dry cleaner for our clothing, linens, and shoes—and miraculously, everything had already been cleaned back in March, before payment was made. Not one piece was lost. If they had waited until now, much of it would have been gone.

Still, Brookfield has not agreed to cover restoration or our living expenses. We’ve been asking for a resolution since February. It’s been a long road.

We’re now working with a lawyer and are thankful to the reporters helping us tell our story. But we need your help.

Please pray for us—for strength, clarity, peace, levity and endurance.

Please keep sharing our story. Light must be shone on dark places until justice is done. We are praying to be returned home by Christmas.

Thank you for standing with us. Your love and support are a beacon of light.

HELP!! PLEASE READ!!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!

Community is not built, it blooms—rooted in kindness, watered by connection.

Once again we have another outside entity bullying their way through our beautiful community.

@altairtemecula @brookfieldsocal want to build homes and sell to us that they are part of this community. They are not. @altairtemecula @brookfieldsocal are, plain and simple, The Big Bad Wolf. They have blown this beautiful family’s 4th generation home down. @brookfieldsocal and @altairtemecula if you want to be part of our community do what is right!!!

I have included their story. Please read. Please share. Let’s remind them: Temecula is not straw. We are stone—rooted, enduring, and unwilling to be blown away. taken in Temecula, California by @lisalocklin
