During my longer layovers, I’ve started buying a postcard from each destination. On the back, I write a quick synopsis of my adventures, then add it to this cute little photo album. ✈️📬

Thanks to @twoguysonaplane for the idea!

Now, before anyone thinks I’ve suddenly become a minimalist traveler… don’t worry. I’m still collecting the important souvenirs too: chocolate, sweatshirts, mugs, random things I absolutely did not need, and occasionally an extra pound or two from local desserts. 😆

But this gives me a fun way to remember each trip and all the little adventures that came with it.

POV: You show up to work expecting a normal day… and then @genesimmons walks onboard. 🤘

We had a great conversation and even discovered he taught 6th grade before music took over. He was funny, gracious, and made my first celebrity encounter one I’ll always remember.

My first month of flying! The @flightyapp is pretty cool. My favorite feature is the how many times I've been around the Earth. My first pairing trip in the purser position! I learned soooo much. I also had a great team that I traveled with. I told them they deserved training pay! The highlight of my trip was getting to have breakfast with my mom and my son. Played #tourist in downtown Chicago today. Took the subway downtown and had lunch at @sweetgreen. (Yummy stuff - there's one in Southlake, too. ). Then walked to Millennial Park to take the iconic Cloud Gate picture. (No, it's not called "The Bean"). Beautiful weather! by @lisamarieoncloud9

After 6½ weeks of training, and relocating to Chicago, I was finally able to pick up my very first trip as a @united Flight Attendant!

I was assigned as the Forward Galley on a flight to Brussels. (One of the more demanding positions) One of my crewmates generously offered to trade positions with me, which meant I spent the flight taking care of the beverage service. Eight hours across the Atlantic, an hour nap in crew rest, several hundred drinks served, and before I knew it, we were in Belgium.

I had a 24-hour layover in Brussels where I explored Grand Place, wandered the city, enjoyed a Belgian waffle, bought way too much chocolate, and, of course, visited the famous Manneken Pis. 🇧🇪🍫🧇

The flight home was just as great—another eight-hour crossing, a wonderful crew meal, a little time in crew rest, and a couple hundred more drinks served.

Most of all, I was lucky to work with an incredible crew. The international purser, Livv, was amazing and made my first international experience one I’ll never forget.

A year ago, I never would have imagined I’d be spending my weekend wandering around Brussels. Life has a funny way of opening doors when you’re brave enough to walk through them. ✈️💙
