I am the girl who got cancer. I’m the 1-2. Im the girl who heard the words “you have cancer” and felt like my whole world stopped. Im the girl that was made so poorly by the medicine that was making me better. Im the girl who smiled when people asked how are you because explaining the truth was exhausting. Im the girl who had to learn to trust her body again after it became the thing she feared the most. BUT I’m also the girl who learned how precious ordinary days are. The girl who stopped waiting for life to begin. The girl who buys the clothes, eats the cake, takes the pictures, says yes, loves harder, laughs louder. I’m the girl who got cancer but I also survived it!!!💙💙💙💙 I cannot begin to express my gratitude for so many people’s support over these last 4 years. Thank you. I finally made the trip!!!! by @lisamoverley

May love and laughter light your days and warm your heart and home. May good and faithful friends be yours wherever you may roam. May peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures, and may all life’s passing seasons bring the best to you and yours. ❤️❤️ taken in Whidbey Island, Washington State by @lisamoverley

45 and still ALIVE!!
Go gently.
Your body is still recovering, even it the treatments have ended. The world may expect you to bounce back quickly, but healing doesn’t work like that. Your muscles are rebuilding. Your energy is still inconsistent. Your mind is still trying to process everything you just lived through.
And that’s okay.
You’ve been through something most people will never truly understand. Chemo doesn’t just take a toll physically. It stretches you mentally and emotionally in ways you didn’t know were possible. So if some days feel heavier than others, if your strength isn’t quite where you want it to be yet, if your brain still feels like it’s running a marathon... give yourself grace.
You are still healing.
There is no rush.
You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. Not with how quickly you get back to work, how strong you look, or how fast you get back to the life you had before. Take the time your body needs.
Go slow.
Be gentle.
Be kind to yourself.
Little by little, you will find your way back. Your strength will return. Your confidence will come back.
One day you’ll realize you’re doing things again that once felt impossible.
You will get back in the saddle. I can’t say thank you enough to all those who helped me get there!!! taken in The Elgin by @lisamoverley

“You handled your cancer diagnosis so well”

“No, I didn’t
“I went insane. How was THIS MY REALITY. I cried offline a lot and put on a brave face at all cost. It shattered everything I thought I was. And I wore a smile that lied better than any mask could. I survived it because I had no other way. And then, I GREW THROUGH IT.”
Please be gentle with us. Although we may look fantastic from the outside, the fight is still continuing everyday. #strongerthanyesterday by @lisamoverley

Oct 6th 2022 was a day filled with laughter, joy, sunshine, time with friends. Oct 7th 2002 that world I knew turned upside in less than 4 minutes. Fast forward: 2 brain surgeries. 42 days of chemo and radiation (yes, I did actually lose that much hair, I got very good at hiding things). 325 days of chemo (Temodar) 12 cycles each cycle 4 weeks each. A YEAR OFF. 9 months of 3 different chemos (PVC) 6 cycles each cycle 6 weeks. Oct 29th 2025 COMPLETED CHEMO!!!!!!!!!! I have been shown many things through this process. The biggest one I am taking away is how much I am loved I am incredibly blessed to have this type of love and support and I wish everyone was able to experience it. I say people don’t truly express how they feel about individuals until their funeral. I was blessed enough to get to feel all that love while I’m still alive and the only thing I know to do with it is pay it forward. You never know what someone is going through so, if you have a moment, just say hi to someone, it might change their day. #bekind #braincancersurvivor #loveoneanother by @lisamoverley
