GIVE ME LOVE, the EP. Out October 3rd.

This is my sound — or at least, the beginning of an introduction to it.

A little soul. A little jazz. Taarab. Swahili, Taita and Mijikenda, Tuseme a little bit of all my life influences.
Stories, melodies, and feelings that are deeply me.

I’m so excited to finally share the cover art and the songs that make up GIVE ME LOVE.

And this body of work was never made alone.

THE VISUALS

@belabelacreativespace — captured the photograph and understood the concept I had in my head.
Art My Pic — turned the photograph into the artwork.
Totoro — brought it all together and finished the art.

THE SOUND

@fmppandabeat — recorded, mixed & mastered the project.
Rhony Frets Maestro — electric guitar, bass & keys.
Charles Thuo — keys.
Eugene Masupo — my brother, genius artist & guitarist.
Toms Mwambo — drums.

THE VOICES

Natasha Otieno
Liley Waweru
Susan Waweru
Lisa Oduor-Noah — sharing the music with me on Nini Ni Kupe ❤️

Every one of you brought something special to this project, and I’m deeply grateful.

This is GIVE ME LOVE.

And you’re in for a beautiful treat. 🌹

October 3rd. (Counting down a day some hours)

Music is so important to me, and will always be a companion to every Death Café.

At our first Death Café, Lisa Oduor-Noah shared her music, while our mental health support partner, Soul Shelter, guided us through grounding exercises and were available throughout the day for anyone who needed additional holding.

The music and grounding exercises were there as an invitation to pause, breathe, reconnect with ourselves and take a moment.

Creating space to pause, feel and simply be is an important part of how we hold these conversations.

Come sit with us at the next Death Café.
