Tomorrow will be 5 months since Don died. Some days I can almost fool myself that it’s not real, but then.. it is. Some of you don’t know what a hard worker he was and that the environmental firm he worked at was my first “Kelly Girl” temp job in my new life after my back injury ended my first career and my “first life”. I turned that temp job down when they offered it to me but eventually returned to work there full time. In the 90’s we were fortunate to get a contract with the Walt Disney World Company as an environmental consultant. Working for Disney meant having everything perfect. The Disney people were so good to me and along with Don, taught me so much about business and the different environmental disciplines. It also meant lots of fun trips for Mama and friends to go with me to Orlando for vacation. Eventually Don and I started our own environmental firm and had a very successful 23 years until we retired in 2020. He was the most knowledgeable consultant I knew and our clients loved him. Don knew most every federal, state, and local building in South Carolina. School Districts depended on him and I honestly don’t know how he got all the work done, but he did. He was respected by SCDHEC, OSHA, and the EPA and solved so many “sick building” problems after others couldn’t. He was my boss for a few years, then my business partner. I’m so proud that the first person I met in my “new life” turned out to be the most special person in my life. There will never be another Don Cobb.. ever. ❤️❤️❤️ by @lisatye68

Today is a month since my dearest Don died. He left three months after my brother Chris and I don’t yet know how to say they died, as reality comes in waves. This second photo was his Enterprise model that he built from scratch many years ago. Tell us some about that building process Misty and Michael Cobb, haha. It hung in our office for years and was on the cover (and center spread) of Fine Scale Modeler magazine. He was so talented in building things. He would have made a great surgeon. He and Chris were alike in many ways. Putting others first, so kind, so smart, and loved their families so much. Don was like all of my brothers were and Mama and Daddy loved him like a fourth son. by @lisatye68

My mama died ten years ago today. Daddy had been gone for two and one half years and she was so brave after he died. They were both like my best friends and got me through so many things in my life with love, compassion, no judgement….and we had fun together til each of them went to heaven. I miss them both so much… part of me is gone, but I will be with them again one day. They let me know they’re around me always. I love you Mama! I love you Daddy! ❤️❤️ by @lisatye68

A few weeks ago I put my back brace (my “turtle shell”) on and treated myself to the 2025 broadway tour production of Les Mis here in Columbia, SC. I was so lucky to get to meet Nick Cartell (Jean Val Jean) and Nick Rehberger (Javert) after the show. I took them pecan pies from Lizard’s Thicket restaurant and a little yellow bear for Nick Cartell’s little girl. I can’t believe they were just on stage for three hours singing their hearts out, AND had to go do another performance in about an hour. THAT’S a great workout! They were so sweet to me and it was so appreciated. I had just gotten up the week before from another six weeks in bed trying to avoid more spinal surgery. I couldn’t even begin to tell them how much them taking time out to sign my Les Mis book and let me rattle on for a few minutes meant to me. If Les Mis is coming to your city, GO see it! These two have the most gorgeous voices and the entire cast was just unbelievable! PS. Nick Cartell has a CD out (A Thousand Spotlights) and if you want to relax and listen to gorgeous music, you need to download/or purchase this. by @lisatye68

Hi everybody! The broadway musical Les MIs is on tour and I was lucky enough to see it performed live today. I had never gotten to see it live, and I did pretty well until Jean Val Jean (Nick Cartell) sat down and started singing Bring him Home. I had been told by friends to prepare, haha, but almost got to the ugly cry…. NOPE, I saved that for another scene near the end (won’t spoil it). Javert’s (Nick Rehberger) really BIG scene was truly disturbing as he’s such a complex character! TAKE paper towels because Kleenexes won’t be enough.. and get tickets to see this unbelievable cast perform this show. It’s overwhelming. The Koger Center here in Columbia, SC still has seats left for the 1pm matinee and the 6:30 pm show tomorrow (Sunday, 5/4/25). The entire tour schedule is on the Les MIs website.
