Thank you Park City! Another weekend of brilliant connections- I leave with gratitude and new friends. Here are some lovely pictures of pieces in their homes from the last month (not from this weekend) I can’t wait to see where the new work lands. A reminder that art makes a difference, changes or creates the energy of a space, and can help tell stories about where we’ve been and where we are and where we are headed. I’ve been trying to figure out how to say thank you to everyone and especially everyone at @cherryarts that brings us all together- and to all who came to the show- y’all are why I keep going. Thank you to everyone who came out- we’ve made such wonderful connections and friends over the years and we had a great time! And thank you to everyone who started or added to their collections- thank you thank you- you allowed me to make these donations to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation and World Central Kitchen 💛

Made it here to Cherry Creek @cherryarts with some special pieces. Finally bringing out “The Ushering” which has been marinating for almost 10 years. It was started as part of a series, and as time went by, and life changed so so much, this last one stayed in the studio…. Comforting and Ushering me onward? It’s time to bring it out. So much revealed in the processes of dye and wax and over and over. At least 50 dyes/waxes. And multiple abstract layers and removals. I do believe they are ushering in something new and wonderful.

And then there is “The Protectors”. Who protects the protectors? So much gratitude to the protectors here among us - working jobs that may be thankless while protecting us. Who protects them? Generations of previous protectors are lined up. Just out of sight. Whispering encouragements. And thank yous

Utah Arts Festival 50th year- Thank you! I’m honored!
This show holds so many memories for me- the first time I did it was 20 years ago- that first year I was blown away by SLC and how openly they welcomed me ans my work- I met so many wonderful people who would become long time collectors and friends. So many “important” pieces live here…through the years I watched kids grow into adults and continue their collections. I love when someone comes in the booth and realizes this is the art that has adorned their walls their whole childhood!

And this is the show my mom did with me almost every year. I think she had more fans and friends here than I did! I still feel her energy here, and so many people come in and talk about her- she is loved

This is one of those shows that bonded many of us artists as we were coming up

And this award is special for all those reasons.

It’s been such a wonderful weekend in Greenville at @artisphere - a huge honor to have been chosen as the poster artist and a wonderful surprise to get an award - 2nd place for 2D overall- fiber arts and this medium of batik in particular is not often acknowledged in this way and I’m so honored to represent here. And to have the piece “Mothers, Sisters, Daughters” as the chosen image is so special… it’s been 9 years (I can hardly believe it) since I held my mamas hand and heard her say “I love you my Lisa” for the last time. She didn’t want to leave us on Mother’s Day so she held on. Mother’s Day can be bittersweet for so many reasons. But I celebrate how lucky I’ve been to have had my mother who was also my best friend, and then to have a daughter who is my best friend, and a sister who is my forever best friend. We’re all mothers and sisters and daughters and we take care of one another. 💛 by @lisauntitled
