After more than three decades in the fitness industry—and eight unforgettable years with Apple and Apple Fitness+—I’m stepping into retirement.I’ve loved this work deeply, which makes this both bittersweet and incredibly exciting. When I joined Apple in 2018, I set a quiet intention: give 7–8 years to help build the most welcoming, inclusive fitness service on the planet. With the most extraordinary team imaginable, I believe we did just that.From teaching my very first aerobics class in NYC in the early ‘90s, to presenting around the world, to creating fitness content for VHS, DVDs, and streaming...it has been an amazing journey. I’m profoundly grateful for the people who shaped my career—those who taught me, challenged me, believed in me, and opened doors along the way. There are far too many to thank in a post. You know who you are. Thank you for your leadership, your generosity, and your trust.Now, it’s time for a new chapter—one filled with reading, dancing, roller skating, travel, and of course, theater. Tim and I are off to visit friends and family around the world. He’s already planned two mountains to climb and an eclipse to chase.I’m stepping forward with a full heart—and a sense of wonder for what’s ahead. by @lisawheelerfit

Many have written and posted about Richard. Many knew him longer. Many knew him better. But he touched my heart. I had the pleasure of working on his last infomercial a few years before he went into seclusion. He had a passion to help those that most of fitness forgot. A passion I have tried to carry on in my career over the last decade. He was smart, funny, vain, generous and loved people. He welcomed me into his home on numerous occasions and treated me as family. Later in life he made fun of himself before others could, becoming a sweet clown so that he could continue to be relevant and spread his story. He even wore a suit to testify in DC on behalf of physical education for children. He had a war with his own body and could have a sharp word but he was full of love. E everyone in the Fitness Industry stands on your shoulders Richard. Rest and power. ❤️ by @lisawheelerfit

Happy Birthday to The Queen. Molly, you are a blessing to me and the world. You are an inspiration and a bright light. You gave me one of my first jobs in the fitness industry and have been a mentor to me for decades. I am thrilled that I get to work with you every day with @applefitnessplus. It’s been a minute but I still feel the vibration. It’s taken me a few weeks to recover. @beyonce is the Queen. What an amazing night of music, art, film, creativity. And her birthday! The bar is high and the attention to every detail is on point. In another level. Her opening was sublime. Her voice. Her heart. Her love. Her generosity. She was there for us. To gift us. Last weekend we brought my Mom and Dad home to Concord, MA to be with family in historic Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. It was wonderful to be with my sibs Jeff, Karen and David and cousins to celebrate my Mom who passed 18 years ago and my Dad who joined her in February. ❤️❤️I found an essay I wrote in college for a dance piece about our relationship with our mothers but I felt it represented both my parents. This is what I read at our gathering. The house my parents built for me had a very strong foundation - solid, grounded, the contents of the cement rich with tradition and history. The frame was strong but there were no walls except for one room. For the others, I was allowed to build each room myself. Paint, furnishings, curtains. If it turned out that the room did not feel right, they would help me tear it down and start again until I felt it was the way it should be. Sometimes rooms remained “wrong“ for a long time until I realized what needed to be fixed. Other times they couldn’t help themselves, and would make subtle changes to lead me to discover the truth. The room with walls was the room they built for themselves, and I could go there to be safe, and to ask questions I probably already knew the answer to. I loved this room with its warmth and its clarity. Sometimes a little messy, sometimes beautifully put together - everything in order except for a tossed blouse, a pocket full of change, a memory. I could discover my parents there, and therefore discover myself.Above all the house had no roof because my parents taught me that I had no limits. I love you Mom and Dad. We wrapped up Pride month over the weekend and I now reflect on the Pride march in San Francisco the previous weekend. Marching with this team of amazing humans and seeing families, children and elders on the route brought me hope. I march for my sister and her wife. I march for all my family and friends who fear their rights will be taken away from them. I march for the LGBTQIA+ community, especially our youth. Spread love, show respect, advocate inclusion, take action. Vote. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ #applepride #sfpride by @lisawheelerfit

This weekend I got to celebrate Earth Day 🌎 🌳 🌱 in beautiful Los Alamos, CA. Starting off the day with this rockstar wine maker and business woman @casadumetzwines. 🍷 Listening to her talk passionately about what, why and how she does what she does. How she listens to Mother Earth in her creative process - listening to the grape, understanding the soil, adjusting to the wind and rain and sun. Her commitment to sustainability and growing organic. Her commitment to her partners as co-creators. Pure magic. You can taste that love in all her wines. And a shout out to @bodycarvin for helping me earn this limited edition award 🍎 with his Time to Run @applefitnessplus episode in Joshua Tree. It was a perfect day for a run and I soaked in all the beauty that surrounded me. On March 31st my sweet Dad would have turned 98. He passed in February just before this milestone. I celebrate him today and everyday. Thank you everyone for your condolences and birthday messages as these events happened within weeks of each other. My Dad showed me how a husband, wife, partner should be treated by how he loved, respected and treated my mom. I love him and miss him terribly but carry him in my heart. by @lisawheelerfit

My sweet daddy passed away yesterday as the sun was coming up. His four children surround him, talking to him, touching him as he took his last breath. Robert Wheeler was a kind, generous, humble and compassionate man. A devoted husband and a fantastic father. He was the Atticus Finch to my Scout. He had the most beautiful hands and he held my hand tightly the night before he passed. I will miss him forever but he lives in me, just like my mom. I get joy in thinking about them together. by @lisawheelerfit
