Happy book birthday to Not About a Boy by Myah Hollis!!

I still can’t believe I get to see my art just hanging out on shelves at libraries and book stores 🥰🥰

I’m so thankful for the amazing opportunity I was given to bring this character to life! Teenage me is screaming and jumping with joy! The YA section of the library was my sanctuary growing up and this seems like a full circle moment!

From concept to cover ⤳⤳⤳

Artist Lisbeth Checo was tasked with redesigning our version of ‘An Extraordinary Union’ by Alyssa Cole for JQ Editions. For this version, Lisbeth was inspired by the strength and resilience of the main characters, as well as the intricate historical details of the era. Lisbeth incorporated blue forget-me-nots into the cover as a subtle nod to Elle’s
remarkable memory. And for the interior artwork, she pulled from key scenes in the book and the evolving relationship between Elle and Malcolm.

The end result? Absolutely unique and breathtakingly beautiful.

I HAVE MY WANTED BROADWAY TICKETS 😭💗

I remember seeing WANTED at the workshop last year and wishing everyone could experience it. Now I’m holding tickets to see it on Broadway, and I’m getting emotional just thinking about it!

Mary and Martha’s love for each other and their family stayed with me long after I saw it. Getting to make art inspired by their story has been so special, but what I want most is for more people to meet them and feel what I felt watching this show.

If I can influence you to do anything, let it be seeing WANTED on Broadway. And bring tissues!!

New hair, new self portrait 🤍 So nice to find a curly hair salon uptown! Ellie was so kind and welcoming, and I left feeling so good about my curls. Thank you for taking such good care of me!
