The air is still, and I am listening
not for sound, but for the rhythm of you
beating against my own pulse.

Four.
I am tracing the map of you.
Your scars are not damage; they are constellations.
My eyes are fixed on your face, memorizing every line,
as if the light might decide to steal you away.

Three.
The scent of you. familiar, home, constant.
I bury my face in the hollow of your neck,
stealing the warmth that belongs only to me,
locking it deep into my own marrow.

Two.
The heavy shadows of the world hover at the door,
but in this quiet, you soften.
I watch the years melt off your face,
a glimpse of the life we are quietly building
in the absolute, breathless middle of nowhere.

One.
There is no one else.
There is only this, and the knowledge that you are here,
anchored to me, choosing this again, always.

One second.
Not enough time.
But enough to know:
the thread is not just tied.
It is woven.
We are, and we remain.
