The great Czech choreographer, Jiri Kylián, set the dance world alight when he first put Indigenous Australian movement on the balletic stage in ‘Stamping Ground’ with the Nederlands Dans Theatre, inspired by his life-changing stay in the Northern Territory.

43 years later, our nation’s premiere ballet company @ausballet & our premiere Indigenous dance company @bangarradancetheatre finally come together to co-create their own landmark work that honours Indigenous Australian history & the land of which they are custodians.

In ‘Flora’, dancers embody the complex lives of plants, including the devastating impact of colonisation on our flora & the Indigenous way of life. But the piece ends on a note of hope, painting a vision of regeneration that this new collaboration proves is possible 🍃

I urge everyone to financially support ‘Naza’, the new documentary gathering testimony from IDF soldiers regarding what they themselves confirm is unequivocally a “genocide”. I also urge support for the film’s brave makers @yuval_abraham & @rachelszor and plead with people who aren’t already doing so to take the small actions that, if taken by sufficient numbers of ordinary individuals, could stop the ongoing genocide within a MONTH.

Attend the next protest in your part of the world, post on social media, donate to the Palestinian cause, educate and pressure the institutions you study and work at to cut ties with Israel, boycott complicit news organisations & companies and email or tag them telling them *why* you are unsubscribing or withdrawing your custom, speak to and educate your circle of influence (everyone, no matter how insignificant they may feel, has one), and support the famous and non-famous individuals who are making personal and professional sacrifices to speak up for the Palestinian cause. Give them your financial, emotional and verbal/reputational support to reverse their cancellation and the massacre of their careers and names.

If you’ve not yet got involved, it is not too late to stop being a passive spectator to this modern-day Holocaust, to stop aiding and abetting the Nazis of 2026 with apathy and inaction. Please HELP

Tour of The Rocks & Sydney’s (bonkers) convict history… plus accidental rugby 🏉 world cup side quest 🤪

Every fresh experience gives rise to the next!

Today I took a 2 hour guided tour of Sydney’s secrets & scandals with the exceptionally erudite & engaging Ned from @realhistorywalkingtours

Every student, Sydneysider & visitor to Sydney should take this tour! Ned blew my mind with his dense & gripping narrative of my beloved city’s history, both Indigenous & colonial - its politics, its architecture, its triumphs, its tragedies & its embarrassingly epic fails 🥴

You will see Sydney with utterly fresh eyes!
