🚨 NEW DEAL ALERT! 🚨 We are so thrilled to announce that bestselling author Elle McNicoll ( @ellemcnicollofficial ) has joined Pan Macmillan in an eight-book (!!) deal. Congratulations, Elle! ✨ ♥️ 💫 The deal includes McNicoll’s new middle-grade series, a two-book acquisition that will launch with the first title, The Girl Who Was Ungifted, in paperback in Autumn 2027. Alongside this new frontlist publishing, Macmillan Children’s Books has also acquired the rights to McNicoll’s six-book middle-grade backlist: A Kind of Spark, Keedie, Like A Charm, Like a Curse, Show Us Who You Are and Role Model, all of which were previously published by Knights Of. Macmillan’s Children’s Books will publish its editions of A Kind of Spark and Keedie in February 2026, with the remaining four titles to follow. Publisher Eishar Brar acquired world all-language rights for the frontlist titles, and UK and Commonwealth rights for the backlist from Lauren Gardner ( @litagentlauren ) at Bell Lomax Moreton. Alongside McNicoll’s debut adult novel, Unapologetic Love Story, which will be published by Pan Macmillan in March 2026, and her Lake Pristine YA romance series with First Ink Books, the publisher says this middle-grade deal “firmly establishes Elle as a premier brand author for Pan Macmillan across all age categories, ensuring her inclusive, powerful and award-winning writing will remain a cornerstone of publishing for years to come.” McNicoll said: “Becoming a Pan Macmillan middle-grade author has been the most rewarding and emotional journey for me. Knowing my entire backlist is in their hands is monumental to me, and I think my new middle-grade title, which will be published by them next year, is one of the most personal books I’ve written. I’m so proud that we’re working on it together.” by @litagentlauren

🚨 NEW DEAL ALERT! 🚨 @scarlettpress.uk, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, has made a six-figure pre-empt deal for two books from author Georgia Bowers ( @georgiabowersya ). Publisher Yasmin Morrissey acquired world all-language rights at London Book Fair from Lauren Gardner ( @litagentlauren ) at Bell Lomax Moreton, with Kate Prosswimmer, executive editor at Scarlett Press in the US, publishing alongside. Congratulations, Georgia! 🩸 🧛 💋 The first novel in the deal, Only Fangs, a supernatural romance starring a conflicted vampire, will publish in paperback in July 2027. The book follows Asher Devereux, as he attends Vampires Anonymous – a diverse vampire support group to reconcile with his past bloodlust behaviour and lead a non-human blood lifestyle. The synopsis continues: “But an eternal life is lonely and undead living is expensive – he’s up to his steely blue eyes in student debt from his human days, synthetic blood isn’t cheap, and he owes VA money. Asher sets up an OnlyFans account, where subscribers pay for packages such as The Edward, The Lestat or even The Nosferatu. “His following grows but his subscribers aren’t convinced by the lukewarm quality of his DMs. Phoebe, a university student strapped for cash, becomes Asher’s OnlyFans ‘chatter’, rejuvenating his profile by giving his followers what they really want in their DMs. But as Asher and Phoebe start to work more closely together, Asher’s loneliness turns to longing, lust turns to love, and he realises an eternal life may not be the worst thing after all.” Bowers said: “I felt love at first bite for Yasmin Morrissey and the team at Scarlett Press. It’s an absolute dream come true to be working with such an exciting publisher on my debut new adult novel, Only Fangs.” by @litagentlauren

#Agent121s are now bookable with @litagentlauren on 22 October and 17 November. Lauren joined Bell Lomax Moreton in 2014 and is proud of the thriving and talented list of fiction and non-fiction bestselling, prize-winning authors across the children's and adult markets she has built since then. In July 2020, Lauren was selected as one of The Bookseller’s ‘Rising Stars’ in their annual list of ‘up and coming’ and ‘future leaders’ within the industry. She represents authors and illustrators across Children's and YA Fiction, NA/Crossover and Commercial Women's Fiction, and Adult Non-Fiction. Many of them have Sunday Times and International bestsellers under their belt and have won or been shortlisted for many prizes and accolades. Lauren loves love in books, whatever sub-genre you have written: real world romance elevated by unusual circumstances; tropes such as forced proximity, lovers to enemies, second chance romance, and fake dating; a romantic comedy set in a college or university; destination romance; supernatural, small town/wholesome romance; YA/crossover; genre blends - sports romantasy anyone? Speculative and historical romance in the style of Rebecca Serle, Alice Hoffman, Sophie Irwin, Lucinda Riley, Julia Quinn, Taylor Jenkins Reid and Stacey Halls are welcome in her submissions box. In Romantasy consider works alongside Deborah Harkness, Rebecca Ross, Ava Reid, Nadia El-Fassi, Sarah Pinborough, Olivia Atwater, and Jennifer Mandula as these are among Lauren's favourite reads. As an agent she is seeking strong, voice-driven narratives with female protagonists and is always drawn to romance forward stories that offer a gentle gateway into this fantasy genre, and feature grounded magic or worldbuilding, and morally grey (but never morally black) characters. Above all, don't be afraid to make Lauren laugh/cry/swoon/all of these emotions at whatever love story you are sharing. Book now for advice on how your submission package is shaping up. www.iaminprint.co.uk #amwriting #writingcommunity #writerscommunity #amwritingromance #romantasy #romcom #historicalromance #writingadvice #literaryagent #writingtips #amquerying by @litagentlauren
