Dearest Readers, This Baker was delighted to attend A Garden Promenade & Fundraising Celebration in Honour of @lindseypatrickwright and her pursuit of the Tennessee State Senate. This highly anticipated social event was graciously hosted by Lady Sierra Barnett and Lord Kevin Barnett. There were many delights including a visit from Queen Vivica Steele and a lovely lakeside promenade. A good time was had by all in attendance. Mrs. Lindsey Patrick-Wright (the Diamond of the Season) is a librarian, mother, and advocate who has spent over 20 years serving our beloved, yet often overlooked, communities. This Diamond wishes to fully fund public schools, stop book bans, and support teachers. She supports protecting farmlands, expanding mental health care, lowering child care costs, full equality for LGBTQIA+ Tennesseans, and protecting trans youth. This Baker is most excited to cast her vote in favor of Mrs. Lindsey Patrick-Wright for TN State Senate District 17 and hopes you will consider doing so as well. Hundreds showed up to the county commission meeting in Lebanon, TN last night to make it clear we DO NOT want an ICE detention center built in our community. We weren’t sure what to expect last night, especially after the conflicting statements released by ICE regarding a facility in Lebanon. ICE first confirmed a facility was purchased and construction would bring 7,000+ jobs to Lebanon, TN. Then they claimed the original announcement was made without approval and they have not purchased a facility… there is even misinformation being shared that the facility was being built in Lebanon, Pennsylvania NOT Lebanon, TN. We even witnessed a news reporter stating this misinformation while they filmed in the crowd (ICE themselves confirmed Lebanon, TN). Regardless, our community still showed up and we are SO proud 💜A threat to the rights of some is a threat to the rights of ALL. Keep showing up 👏 by @literaryflour
