⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed Alive and Wells. 🤠🤍

My favourite part was Wells Ranch itself. I loved that it was full of people with secret pasts who’d all found a place to start again. It made the ranch feel like such a special setting.

I also loved watching Cecily, a city girl, throw herself into ranch life while trying to leave her past behind.

I’m definitely being a bit harsher with my star ratings this year 😂 so this one landed at 3 stars, but I’d still recommend it if you love cowboy romances and found family. 🫶

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed Unloved! 🤍

Freddy and Ro had such a lovely story, and I found myself rooting for them from the very beginning. Their chemistry was so natural, and I loved watching their relationship grow. Peyton Corinne just has a way of writing characters that you can’t help but become invested in.

This one was full of heart, emotion, and all the little moments that made me smile. The only reason it’s a 4-star read for me is because Unsteady completely stole my heart and is still my favourite of the series. But honestly, this whole series has been such a great read, and I can’t wait to see what Peyton writes next. 🫶

₊⊹ 𝐿’𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑠𝑒 ᯓ 𝟺 ✮

Au cœur de la forêt, loin de tout, un chalet. Casey y vit seule, à l’écart du monde. Ancienne institutrice, chassée de son poste, elle n’a demandé qu’une chose : qu’on l’oublie. Mais ce soir, la tempête approche, et le silence de la forêt a quelque chose de faux. Dehors, dans le noir, une silhouette avance. Elle ne s’arrête pas. Elle glisse vers le cabanon, et disparaît à l’intérieur. Casey aurait dû verrouiller sa porte. Ne pas bouger. Mais, elle prend sa lampe torche et sort. Ce qu’elle découvre dans la pénombre du cabanon la glace : une adolescente, les vêtements et les mains couverts de sang, serrant un poignard.
Et cette question, qui ne la quittera plus : d’où vient tout ce sang ?

Il y a des autrices qu’on retrouve avec appréhension quand la dernière rencontre n’a pas tenu ses promesses. The Boyfriend ne m’avait pas totalement convaincue, La Locataire m’avait paru du réchauffé, et je me suis lancée dans L’Intruse sans trop y croire. J’ai eu tort.

Tout se joue au chapitre 53, avec un retournement de situation qui m’a laissée complètement sonnée. J’ai dû repasser l’intrigue au peigne fin, reclasser chaque indice, rattacher chaque personnage à son histoire. Ce genre de secousse, c’est exactement ce que je demande à un thriller. Mais le « après » m’a clairement moins emballée. Le rythme retombe, et il manque un peu de matière aux retrouvailles d’Ella avec son père comme à son épanouissement, que j’aurais voulu voir durer un peu plus longtemps. Quant à l’histoire de Nell, presque calquée sur celle d’Ella, elle m’a paru tirée par les cheveux, et c’est dommage.

Reste l’essentiel : j’ai englouti ces 360 pages en 24h. Freida est décidément la reine du page-turner 🫠

Had THE BEST weekend at @onceuponatynefest 🥹💗

I’m honestly so so grateful to every single person who came over to see me this weekend! Whether you bought something, came for a chat, showed me what you were wearing from Literature Stitches or just came over to say hi, THANK YOU 🥹🫶🏼

It was also so lovely seeing some of my fellow vendors again and getting to catch up 🥰 And getting to chat to @ellishunterauthor , @authorbethreekles , @anniesummerlee and so many more lovely authors was such a highlight of the weekend!! 📚💗

I still can’t quite believe I get to do things like this for my job 🥹 Thank you so much for supporting my little business and making weekends like this possible — I’m so so grateful for every single one of you 🫶🏼
