Before the newer Garfield movies, there was this one. 😂

Garfield: The Movie came out in 2004, combining live-action actors with a CGI Garfield voiced by Bill Murray.

But here's the funny part...

Bill Murray reportedly accepted the role after seeing the name “Joel Cohen” in the script and thinking it was Joel Coen — yes, THAT Joel Coen from the Coen Brothers.

He eventually realized they weren't the same person. 😂

And somehow, we still ended up with Bill Murray as the voice of Garfield.

The movie went on to make over $200 million worldwide against a reported $50 million budget. Not bad for a movie critics absolutely did not fall in love with. 😭
