HI, I’M LOU!...
...a documentary family photographer who loves to look into families’ little days, capturing the unpredictable moments and the wonderfully random things kids do when in their own little world, giving you a real insight into the unique joys and challenges of your real family life.

I’ve had years of experience both in photography and also working with children. They rarely fail to put a smile on my face and remind me that I’m still a child at heart!

I have been photographing most of my life since I received my first camera at age 10. I’ve worked professionally as a photographer for 17 years but predominantly as a wedding photographer (@thegeorges.co) Alongside building my business, I worked as a teaching assistant in a primary school. I missed my days working with children and it came to me that I should expand my reportage, documentary photography to families rather than just weddings. I found a new joy in capturing the unpredictability of children and real families which has opened my eyes to a whole new world of photography!

I can’t wait to spend some time with your family and create a story of your days and moments together with genuine, honest and real images.

A quiet, unnoticed moment

These are what I'm always looking for. Catching those wonderful moments when children are in their own little world. I find these seconds so joyful and I'm always keeping one eye out for them.

These images prove my point perfectly...there's no need to prepare anything for my photo sessions. Just all be yourselves, natural and relaxed, and embrace your real family life.

Lit by soft winter light, this newborn session from last winter still gives me all the warm, cosy feelings. Tiny hands, sleepy yawns, and the kind of stillness that only comes in those first precious days.
