POSTS STORIES REELS

twenty-three, inside her fantasy🏰🗡️🐉

figured today was as good a day as any to make a formal introduction post!

hi! my name is brentley, or the little gremlin! i love all things books, pop culture, and physical media. i’m an absolute chaos junkie and i will say something unhinged on a regular basis. today is my birthday! i’m a long time reader but i’ve been sharing my reading content for two years with all of the wonderful people of bookstagram! i’m so happy you’re here and let’s be friends!

RAELIA RELEASES IN THE UNITED STATES IN TWO WEEKS‼️‼️ This wonderful group of people that is know as the “Medoran Madness” group had a blast reading this book(even though someone forgot the whole plot) and we would all highly recommend you to PREORDER Raelia RIGHT NOW! Or else we will look like the last slide…and we don’t want that. And while you are at it BUY AKARNAE wherever books are sold! by @littlegremlinlibrary

i’ve been quoting this for months so of course i made it my halloween costume

gilded & cursed👑

talk about a perfect halloween duology—a rumplestiltskin retelling with a hallowed hunt that rides on the full moon, a cursed bargain, and ghosts galore

a land so wide🦇

of course i can’t make a spooky season post without including Erin A. Craig! her adult debut A Land So Wide is spooky, eerie, and atmospheric—think vampire-esque monsters with an undercurrent of the Lorax but evil

small favors🐝

another EAC work of art! small favors is perhaps Erin’s spookiest work in my opinion. it’s chilling and enraging all at the same time, and i think everyone looking for a little halloween thrill should pick it up

the house saphir👻

a haunted mansion, a plethora of ex-wives, and chaotic main character who can see ghosts! what more could you need from a bluebeard retelling!

a stage set for villains🎭

my ability to make A Stage Set for Villains apply to any occasion should be studied. but this greek mythology inspired dark fantasy is a fantastic treat (or is it a trick?) and i’ll let the book speak for itself

“The gods are dead. All that’s left are the Players.”

silver in the bone & the mirror of beasts⚔️

perhaps one of the most underrated duologies on my shelf! i absolutely adore Silver in the Bone and if you’re looking for a little more fantasy with your halloween, this is a fabulous choice! by @littlegremlinlibrary

you might be thinking: brentley, i thought this was supposed to be a halloweekend post? and you know what, it is! i don’t do scary movies but disney channel halloween is where it’s at! so enjoy a post inspired by one of the best disney songs, featured in Girl vs. Monster! here’s some books that had *me* at hello and their iconic first lines

#halloweekend #monstober #halloween #hadmeathello #bookrecs by @littlegremlinlibrary

happy hallo-week!! thought i’d start celebrating with a trip down memory lane! i’ve always loved dressing up, and especially as my favorite fictional characters

what’s your favorite halloween costume you’ve ever had?

#halloween #trickortreating #bookishhalloween #halloweencostumes #booksta

dorothy gale is a right of passage costume and i’d do it again tomorrow

once a narnia kid, always a narnia kid! this is for sure one of my favorite halloween memories

guys we are literally twins wdym?? but i was OBSESSED with ever after high as a kid

now into the modern era: brentley wearing wigs on the internet! sadly this blue wig does not slay on me the way it does on emily bader

another personal favorite! i could give a one woman show of this entire movie and i’m dedicated enough to do all the costumes

so the wonderland/queen of hearts fascination grew up just a tad! this was last year’s costume and i still am so proud of how my top came out

a classic brentley costume! idk what it says about me that everything but the wig came from my own closet, but this costume is now a staple in my portfolio by @littlegremlinlibrary

weekend in the life💫🌳📚📝

a little peak at what my grad school residency weekends look like! very lucky i get to spend some of my weekends in greenville, i couldn’t ask for a better place to be while i spend all my time inside the same building😛
jokes aside, i love getting to visit GVL every so often, especially if it means a visit with Megan @meglovesliterature ! and it always helps when i can treat myself to an indie bookstore visit of course

The incredibly late Raelia review i know you’ve all (aka Olivia) been waiting for

Alexandra Jennings thank you for your service in providing pop culture references.

Raelia builds upon the lush world and adventure established in Akarnae while taking it to a whole new extreme. The stakes are higher, the emotions receive more damage, and Alex needs more therapy. I was enthralled by this book and could not get enough of it. I stand firmly by the idea that this series would have been a Roman Empire series for 13 year old Brentley. It contains all of the elements I love in young adult fantasy. Found family, light versus dark, coming-of-age, goofy characters who act their age. It thrills me beyond measure that this series is coming to the United States and that more young readers will get to experience the magic of Medora. Lynette Noni has crafted a world full of so much enchantment and beauty. I’d love nothing more than to find my own magical doorway that leads to untold adventures in the land of Medora—I probably would not last very long at Akarnae, but a girl can dream.

Thank you so much Astra Publishing House and Astra Kids for allowing me to be on the Medora U.S. Street Team and providing this eARC!
