@myersinteriors is a talented interior designer based in Orange County, CA, and I recently had the JOY of crafting her brand identity!

Kaitlin helps families build their dream homes by designing spaces that are as luxurious as they are livable, and as a toddler mom herself, she truly understands that functionality is key.

The two of us connected last fall through a virtual coffee chat (s/o @madeformothers.co) — and fast forward to spring, I find an inquiry from Kaitlin in my inbox 💌

To celebrate her first year in business, she was ready to invest in a brand identity that matched the high-quality level of her work.

When we sat down to chat about her vision, a few words kept coming up:
🌿 Organic
✨ Refined
🤍 Elegant
🕰️ Timeless

For the illustration, we couldn’t have landed on anything more perfect than the California poppy. I love that this stunning floral is now a reminder of Kaitlin’s resiliency and the ambition it took to build a business of her own — with a baby on her hip.

I will forever be obsessed with this one!

It’s launch day for Terri Sings! 🎙️✨

When @terriazie reached out to me for web design, she said she wanted a fresh site that really showcased her original music and made it easy to connect with her for performances and vocal lessons. As I was working on the initial site design and determining our creative direction, I quickly zeroed in on a recording industry review about her music:

“Terri Azie makes the kind of music that feels lived-in rather than manufactured.”

This is what inspired the blend of modern edge and nostalgia you’ll see on her site — scrapbook-style photos from her earliest gigs sprinkled around, a stunning music video to welcome visitors to the site, punchy and moody blues for a cool vibe, and textured backgrounds and paper elements that bring warmth and approachability.

It was such an honor to support Terri with her site…and did I mention that in addition to her music career, she’s also a public school teacher?! I’m a former elementary teacher myself, so you already know how it makes me feel to partner with another educator in my design work 🫶

Fall foliage, a long weekend, and a few fonts to match the vibe 🍂 This little collection was inspired by our family getaway to the Autumn Glory Festival in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.

A cozy, inviting brand never goes out of season (or style!), and choosing the perfect font sets the tone from the beginning.

What saying yes in July looks like in October:

✌🏻 Two days of incredible learning + reflection at the Soft Business Retreat with @molly.balint (really wishing our time didn’t go by so fast!)

🛋️ A cozy room FULL of ambitious women in business

☕️ Rich stories and conversations between cups of tea (@fullmoonteacompany ✨) and coffee

🔥 Back-to-back hot seat coaching sessions with Mariah Stockman @madeformothers.co that are already making an impact

📝 Pages of notes in my journal that I’ll be rereading for weeks to come

🍂 One picture-perfect harvest dinner (@littlegreenhouseevents) to raise a glass to new friends

📱 Our group chat still buzzing with excitement for where we’re all headed

So glad that I quit lurking around Molly’s IG + Soft Business Club this summer and simply started the conversation (with help from Mariah ☺️🫶)

Here’s to saying yes to more…more often! by @littleinspodesign

So…there are JUST a few minor details you should know about me before we meet up:

👀👉🏻 I will notice/take pictures of all brand fonts + illustrations wherever I go. It’s good inspo! I can’t help it!!

🥐💛 Breads & pastries are always a yes, so let’s skip the chit-chat and just order multiples to share, deal?

🐢🥤 Love the turtles, very much in support of bettering the environment, absolutely dislike a soggy paper straw melting into my crispy Coke 😂

So, you find yourself throwing the metaphorical spaghetti at the wall (again)!

Each time you sit down, your brand just feels all over the place, but here are five simple things you can do to change that this week:

💭 Identify your brand’s visual descriptors. Write them down (a sticky note is perfect) and revisit them whenever you have to create content. Think: “What do I want my audience to FEEL or EXPERIENCE when they come across my brand’s visuals?”

🎨 Lock in on a color palette and stick with it across all brand touchpoints. Start with a light neutral and a dark neutral, then play around with 3-4 “pops” of color (they don’t have to be bright). Save each HEX code in a note for an easy copy & paste, or ask me about my favorite Chrome extension for this!

✍️ Avoid using too many fonts. Curate a small selection that align with your brand’s aesthetic. If you’re looking to add variety, try playing with letter spacing, line heights, caps lock, or bold and italics.

🧰 Take 10-15 minutes to set up a few elements in your Canva Brand Kit. It doesn’t have the be the whole sha-bang. Just having all of your colors, fonts, and logos easily accessible helps you maintain consistency.

🧵 Pick a pattern, or two, or three. Use them frequently as backgrounds in posts or stories to further establish your brand identity. Is your brand playful or quirky? Look for more organic, hand-drawn patterns. Do you lean a touch more classic? Clean, crisp angles and thin line weights could be right for you.

Even if you only check off a few of these items, chances are things will start to feel more cohesive pretty quickly.🪴

Confession: I’m a web and brand designer and yes, I think AI is a great tool!

“So Paige, are you saying people should just use AI to build their graphics/brands/websites?”

Hmm, not quite.

✅ I 100000% believe in the VALUE that handcrafted design brings to a business — otherwise, I wouldn’t do what I do!! 🤍

🤔 But…I don’t believe that completely knocking down the use of this tool is the best way to initiate conversations around design.

I have no issues admitting that AI absolutely plays a role in my studio: helping me to streamline workflows, generate super-cool mockups, or trim down run-on sentences (I’ve been guilty of those since 5th grade).

The most important thing when it comes to my use of AI as a business owner is that it doesn’t take over my craft or authentic voice.

It’s all a balance, and I think we’re all just out here trying to figure it out!

Something about summertime and longer days always sparks my creativity, which tends to overflow into every area (sort of like what the laundry basket is currently doing upstairs…😬🧺)

I’m eager to reorganize cluttered spaces, explore new shops, try different recipes, and find new ways to freshen up our home.

So lately, I’ve been staring at our family room mantle for a couple weeks just dreaming of painting it a fresh color.

✨ Naturally, I researched on Pinterest
✨ Pinned cozy palettes to complement our wall color
✨ Grabbed plenty of swatches to test out
✨ And on Friday, I went and purchased the paint!

But…even as they were mixing it up, I kept thinking to myself, “What IF this turns out too bold?”

After getting the first coat down I started to feel more confident, but I still went to bed with a bit of uncertainty.

In the morning I came downstairs, took one look at the mantle, and thought, “Ok, so what?”

So what IF it turned out too bold in the end…it’s just paint! It’s completely fixable, and sometimes those first concepts aren’t winners.

When I’m delivering any concept to my clients, I always reassure them that this is true for our work together as well.

Revisions are absolutely normal, and identifying what we don’t like is just as important as recognizing what we DO. It brings us another step closer to full confidence in the final concept.

I’m eager to pull the tape off the mantle tonight and really see this color in its true form…pretty sure I love it now!

P.S. The color is Vintage Vogue by Benjamin Moore 🎨

As a designer (+ former elementary teacher! 🍎) it’s important that I hand clients a style guide that doesn’t just look beautiful…but ACTUALLY educates and makes sense!

I love getting to walk through these details at the end of a project and answer any client questions about “how” or “when” to use certain brand elements.

Swipe through to see what I handcrafted for Courtney over at @booksfrchange! 🤍

Thinking you need this level of organization and guidance for you + your team?

Send me a DM and let’s chat! I’d love to hear from you 💌
