This weekend we remembered my brother in law & lo’s uncle by playing at camp 🫶🏼🕊️He’s been gone 5 years & it was nice to get together & celebrate him🫶🏼We built a damnWe caught crawfish We listened to the water flow We tried to catch fish We watched tiny fish dance around our toes We told stories We snuggled a butterfly that wouldn’t leave our sidesIt was a wonderful weekend- enjoying nature, learning through play, and honoring someone who left too soon🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 by @littlelos_learning

I am obsessed with this learning opportunity & I just need to share it with yall 🐞🐛🐜How cool is this?!?The filler is from @hippiehooray & it’s seriously the coolest. The thought behind each piece that Jenna used, is truly amazing. Im obsessed with it & I realized there’s no way to truly show you how cool it is😂 but just trust me😍These printables are some of my favorite from @projectbasedprimary !!! All of her materials are gold, but the insect ones are our favorite. And the LIFE CYCLE printables?! I love them so much 🐞And of course I slipped a few @cureightedco insects in this play because they just go with everything and made everything feel a little more ✨special✨😍 by @littlelos_learning

Nature Dough🌷🌻🌲🌿I had my kiddos collect 2-5 items from around their yard/park & put them in a brown paper bag (family involvement, nature exploration, motor skills)Then they brought their bags in & did a show + tell to their class (public speaking, recalling events)Afterwards, we made play dough together (cooking, math, fine motor)Then we added our nature for a little special fun!! (Sensory, nature exploration, science, communication, cause/effect, problem solving)One ✨easy✨ activity was actually a really important learning opportunity 🫶🏼 by @littlelos_learning

Physically? I’m here enjoying summer and all it has to offer as a mama!Mentally, though? I’m sitting on my porch in a sweatshirt with my coffee while the cool breeze swirls around me. I’m hearing the leaves fall. I’m seeing creepy Halloween decorations. We’re going on a bear hunt 🐻My kiddos loved this activity!I used things I had around the classroom and set it up in less than 10 minutes! 🌱grass- grass skirt + streamers 💦river- water + blue paint 🍫mud- cocoa powder + oats + water 🌳forest- bird seed + strips of brown paper ❄️snow- fake snow We don’t need screens to have a good time.
