How we extend fizzy play past the actual fizzing 💡
- Add some flowers
- Have some citrus fruits on hand
- Let them have access to the herbs in the garden (although fair warning- the soup may smell a little funky 🙈)

You know how sometimes you think it’s a great idea, but then turns out it’s actually not? Well this was one of those times for me.

Got a little over confident with sensory play and thought this would be a fun one. Turns out it just made me feel on edge the whole time (didn’t anticipate how tricky it was to try and stop baby from splashing the 3.5yo, and how uncomfortable the thought of having cocoa splashed around the place would make me). Cleanup was another beast as I had to give both kids a bath 🛁 , and then try wrangle the mess without clean baby getting back into the mess 🫠🫣

We will be sticking to dry sensory play indoors for now, and fizzy play in the mud kitchen 😂. The lesson I learnt from this is- the type of sensory play chosen has to work for everyone (the grown up in charge of clean up included).

Tell me- do you avoid certain types of sensory play?

Our play couch as never seen as much action as it has this week. The girls have refused to let it be packed away, and my heart is delighted at how much they are enjoying the play couch (before this week, it was basically just a place to sit and read). So much imaginative play happening around here 🙌

Our little craft corner is so loved with both girls now into water colouring, drawing, cutting, stamping- you name it. All the crafty things.

This table has seen so much action and it’s honestly been a bit of a challenge to keep the surface stain free with all the crafting that goes on during the day esp with a toddler involved. We recently received and tried out @kingdomplayroom ‘s art mat and let me tell you it’s been a complete game changer. It now lives permanently on our craft table, and all stains that it’s had to contend with (texta, paint, pencil) have just come off with a wet wipe!! 😱

If you’re looking to protect your tabletops, our code MOMENTS10 will give you a 10% discount off your purchases @kingdomplayroom 😊

We did a major reshuffle of our play space over the weekend (basically swapped the dining area and play areas) and wow- natural lighting has really made such a big difference!

Hoping that this will bring some (semblance of) calm and order as we prepare to homeschool next year!! Very nervous but also excited for this journey 💛

If you do homeschool, what are some of your biggest tips/tricks? I’d love allllll the tips!

Is your puzzle just a puzzle? Or can it be anything your child imagines it to be?

So many possibilities with @kingdomplayroom ‘s infinity puzzle- I love that it’s open ended and there’s never a right or wrong way to play with it. It removes frustration for miss 4.5 and she is really enjoying creating with it. Bonus that it’s also stunning on the light table! 🙌

When you’re up with the birds 🐦 (5.30am) and the whole house is still asleep.

Miss 1.5 got to test out the infinity puzzle on our light table and it was a nice, quiet, calming activity to start our day.

She’s not quite able to piece the pieces together herself as of yet, but there are still so many ways to play! It’s such a beautiful open ended resource that I can foresee will be well loved in our playroom 🧡
