1 Year ago today my Nanny found me in the middle of the road in not good condition and called my mom unsure of what to do. My mom fell in love with me and I landed in my forever home! So much has happened and changed over the last year. I’ve been given so much love I had never experienced before. I’m so grateful for all the friends I have made along the way. Thank you to everyone for your support and kind words. I’m the luckiest Shih Tzu alive! Happy Gotcha day to me! Love you all ~ Winnie 🐶🩷

We found Winnie when my mom was doing an errand for work and she saw her standing in the middle of the road. She smelled of urine and stool and her back feet were completely covered in mats to the point it looked like she had hooves instead of feet. These photos are from when we first found Winnie. By the time these were taken we had bathed her and tried to trim her feet a little. They were somewhat worse when we originally found her. The last photos are after the vet shaved them off completely for us (last slides are what came off her feet it weighed 0.2lbs). Underneath her feet were red and irritated with scabbing from being encased by urine and stool. We got her scanned for a microchip to see if there was one and there wasn’t any. The vet said she is very skinny and they believe she is blind potentially from untreated infections in her eyes. She also has damaged and broken teeth we are unsure from what. I am doing my best to get her taken care of and got her microchipped today. Monday she is going for blood work to see if there are any underlying health concerns because I want to get this baby a dental to help her since her teeth seem to be bothering her. They think Winnie could’ve been a breeding dog that was no use to her owners anymore since she is most likely an elderly dog, but we honestly don’t know her story. I just know I am going to do everything I can to give her the best life I can. #dogs #dogsofinstagram #dog #puppy #dogstagram #doglover #dogoftheday #doglife #doglovers #instadog #pets #puppylove #love #puppies #puppiesofinstagram #pet #dogsofinsta #cute #dogslife #petsofinstagram #cats #doggo #ilovemydog #animals #instagram #doglove #cutedogs #dogphotography #petstagram #adoptdontshop by @littleoldwinnie

Messy hair don’t care. Today is a brush and trim day and I’m not happy about it. Groomers is next week so for now I have to look like a fluffy Ewok. 🐶🩷

Mom should really stop putting my toys away because I am just going to take them right back out. 🐶🩷

Mom always films our photoshoots so she can screenshot later because I hate staying still. Mom apologizes for the chaotic filming but she had to catch me because I’m fast! 🐶🧡🎃
