What if water could flow out of a cup without moving it? 😳💧

Try this simple siphon experiment with a straw and water! Watch gravity move the water and explore STEM through play. 🧪

Ask your little scientist:
💭 What will happen?
💭 Why does the water flow?
💭 What happens when the water level drops?

We tried it with a toothpick, a straw, and a pencil… and now we’re testing it with a plastic spoon and a coffee stirrer! 😲🔍

What do you think will happen this time? Watch and see! 👀

🧪 The science behind it:
Water molecules attract each other, creating a force called surface tension at the water’s surface. Soap reduces surface tension by changing how water molecules interact. This can change how water behaves around objects!

💡 Try asking your little scientist:
🔍 What do you notice?
🤔 What changed when we added soap?
💭 Will the spoon and coffee stirrer behave the same way?
🧪 Which object should we test next?

Simple household items can turn into hands-on STEM learning opportunities! These easy science experiments for kids encourage observation, prediction, critical thinking, and problem-solving while exploring the science all around us.

✨ We don’t always need to give kids the answer. Sometimes, we can let them wonder first!

📌 Save this easy water science experiment for kids and share it with a parent, teacher, or caregiver looking for fun, low-prep STEM activities for preschoolers and elementary-age children!

We tried it with a toothpick, and now we’re testing the same idea with a straw! 🔬 Sometimes, the simplest household items lead to the most interesting science questions.

🧪 The science behind it:
Water molecules attract one another, creating a force called surface tension at the water’s surface. Soap reduces surface tension by changing how water molecules interact. This can change how water behaves around objects, including a straw!

💙 Try this easy water science experiment with your little scientist!

Ask your child:

💭 Will the straw behave the same way as the toothpick?
🧪 What else could we test?

These simple science experiments for kids encourage observation, prediction, critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on STEM learning. You don’t need expensive science kits, everyday household items can become fun learning activities for preschoolers and elementary-age children!

✨ We don’t always need to give kids the answers. Let’s let them wonder, explore, and discover the science all around them! 💙

A tiny drop of soap… and water behaves differently?! 😳💧🧪

We tried a simple science experiment for kids using just water, a toothpick, and soap! 🔍

First, we put a toothpick in a cup of water, but it wouldn’t stand. Then we added soap… and the result surprised us! 👀

🧪 The science behind it: Water molecules attract each other, creating a force called surface tension at the water’s surface. Soap reduces surface tension by changing how water molecules interact. This changes the behavior of the water around the toothpick!

💙 Try this easy science activity at home!

Ask your little scientist:
🔍 What do you notice?
🤔 Why do you think the soap changed what happened?
💭 What do you predict will happen if we try it again?

Sound ON. Who Says Toys Have Only One Purpose?

We got this electronic train truck from @thebestkidstoys and turned playtime into an opportunity to explore, create, and learn!

🔺 Making shapes
🧩 Exploring patterns
💡 Trying new ideas
🎨 Letting imagination lead the way

One toy, so many possibilities! ✨

We love discovering how everyday play can encourage creativity, problem-solving, curiosity, and learning. Sometimes, the best activities aren’t planned lessons. They’re the ideas that pop up when little hands start exploring and little minds start wondering, “What else can I make?” 🥰

🎁 Looking for an early holiday gift? @thebestkidstoys is running an early holiday sale! 🎄 It’s a great time to explore their toys and find something to inspire your little one’s next creative adventure.

👇 Tell us: What would your little one create with a train truck?

Wait… did we just make a cloud inside a bottle?! ☁️👀

All it took was a bottle, a little rubbing alcohol, and some shaking… and suddenly, we had a tiny cloud! 🔬☁️

But what actually happened? 🤔

When we shook the bottle, the rubbing alcohol evaporated and filled the bottle with alcohol vapor. As the bottle was opened/pressure changed, the vapor cooled and tiny droplets formed around particles in the air. Those tiny droplets came together and made what looked like a cloud! ☁️

Just like real clouds, it’s all about water or liquid droplets suspended in the air, but here, we’re creating our own mini version right in a bottle.
Inspired by @tamuphysastr ❤️.
Try asking your child:

☁️ What do you notice?
🤔 Where do you think the cloud came from?
👀 What do you think will happen if we shake it again?
💭 Will the cloud disappear? Why?
🔬 How do you think real clouds form?

We didn’t rush to give the answer. We watched, wondered, and tried to figure it out together. 💙

Science can start with something as simple as: “What do you think will happen?”

⚠️ Adult supervision required. Rubbing alcohol is flammable and should be handled by an adult.

Was a slingshot part of your childhood too? 🤎Send this to a friend who you think remembers this?

The little one got inspired after watching @angrybirds and asked if we could make one. So, we made a simple homemade version.

Beyond the fun, activities like this can help children practice hand-eye coordination, focus, aiming, patience, and controlled movement.

It’s also a great opportunity to teach responsibility and safety, choosing a safe target, making sure the area is clear, and learning to respect tools.

Always use age-appropriate equipment with close adult supervision, eye protection, and never aim at people or animals. #slingshots #angrybird #screenfreefun #focus #kids by @littlesscienceplay

From exploring rocks hitting Mars ☄️ to creating our own little space story…

We’re loving this space sticker book from @cupkinworld because it gives kids another way to take what they’ve learned and turn it into something of their own.

Imagine it.
Choose a sticker.
Color it. 🎨
Bring your story to life. 📖
Try a new idea.
Move things around.
And keep creating. ✨

There’s no one right way to use a sticker book, sometimes a simple sticker can spark a whole new idea.

Let kids imagine. Let kids create. Let their ideas take off. 🚀💙
