Shoutout @mckenziewpower for these amazing photos for the show on Saturday performing on the @tideandboarmusic stage with Fredericton icons @eltataylostaqueros_ the legend of Saint John @stephenhero506 and my main men @therangerthinband and @rivercaplin

Even though I was overheated even before I hit the stage this was my best performance yet and favourite show I've ever played AND the best show I've ever seen, so quite the treat to have been part of it. Thanks to everyone who came out, and special thanks to @ryanbarroll for additional camera work.

Sadly after seeing El Tata play I fear I will never be fully satisfied performing solo ever again, so if you ever felt like "damn, I want to be in a band with a rapper like Jan" now is your chance! Better strike before someone beats you to it. taken in Tide and Boar Gastropub by @littlestonecrow

Rap Show June 27!

I am honoured to share the stage with @eltataylostaqueros_ and @stephenhero506 for a rap show at the Tide & Boar in Moncton.

Joining me during my set are special guests @therangerthinband and @rivercaplin we haven't performed together since closing out Acadie Rock for Goodchance Underdog Rhythm & Poetry Club.

I hope y'all can make it out and pack the venue, it's going to be a great time and a good crowd will show the organizers it was worth inviting me :) taken in Tide and Boar Gastropub by @littlestonecrow

Get ready for a night packed with incredible tunes as El Tata y los Taqueros, Little Stone Crow, and Stephen Hero take over The Pub on Saturday, June 27th!

Little Stone Crow
Little Stone Crow is a genre-defiant Mi’kmaw sorcerer whose songs are spells cast to protect the earth and its people. They make post-apocalyptic doom rap rooted in hip hop, indie folk, and jazz that will captivate and enthrall your spirit, empowering it to face the realities of life and build a better future.

Stephen Hero
STEPHEN HERO makes raw, working class hip hop from Canada’s east coast. His style is influenced by alt-rap legends like Kool Keith and MF DOOM, with a strong penchant for the relaxed and joyous experimentation of groups like De La Soul and Beastie Boys, but with a contemporary, often dark feel. Hero takes the ruling class to task unapologetically as he builds his varied and powerful catalogue.

El Tata y Los Taqueros
El Tata y Los Taqueros’s sound is a clear reflection of the composition of its parts. Boasting a cast of musicians from across the world, the band’s talented members often blend sounds from Latin rock, blues, and funk into a hip-hop context, producing high-energy soundscapes that delve anywhere between beautiful, grimy, and soulful.

Round up your crew, grab a drink, and settle in for an unforgettable evening of great music, good vibes, and plenty of reasons to stay out a little later than planned.

Tickets are available now at tideandboar.com — don’t wait, this one’s going to be a good one! by @littlestonecrow

Thanks to @musicmusiquenb and the Government of New Brunswick for providing funding for my participation in the Second Generation of the Mi’kmaw Artist Emergence Program. Thanks to their assistance I was able to attend the program in Nova Scotia, where I got to meet and collaborate with other Mi’kmaw musicians, showcased, and went through workshops and seminars with various mentors in and adjacent to the music industry. I was very lucky to get to attend MAEP, and the MID Program from MusicNB played a big part in making this a viable option. by @littlestonecrow

I had the good fortune to catch @realwolfcastle and @stephenhero506 this weekend, and their show was absolutely incredible. Had to bring my camera and dang am I glad I did cuz these two were a JOY to photograph.

Seeing a fellow Mi'kmaw person commanding an audience like this was quite healing. It can be difficult to see how the world sees Indigenous people, but for one night all that was washed away and all that was left was pride, joy, and inspiration. To see a Mi'kmaw person share their magical powers with a room full of people and see all those people appreciate and respect that power... massive.
