The Chalk Alley Art Mural project is a public art collaboration initiated by the NorthShore Merchants Collective and involved multiple property owners, the City of Chattanooga, and Little Things Lab.

The Chalk Alley Art Gallery Wall provides designated chalkboard-painted areas for individuals to create art and express themselves with provided chalk.

Across the sidewalk is a vibrant colorful mural, by local artist Alecia Buckles which captures the playful, fun, and eclectic spirit of Chattanooga’s NorthShore. by @littlethingslab

Post it and caption that!

Community members added their pictures to captions of the community at the United Way 100 year block party. The final result created festive flag like decorations of the community members who participated in the event! by @littlethingslab

The process: Learning about alternative transportation with the Design Your Neighborhood curriculum, East Lake Academy 6th and 7th graders helped identify their bus stop creative direction and worked with the art teacher to get the artwork ready for print.

The design: Not only is this their mascot, but the blue and green background showcases our river and mountains. Way to go, kiddos! taken in East Lake Academy Of Fine Arts by @littlethingslab

Little Things Lab goes mobile! We’ve been busy lately traveling all over town helping with the @nationalparkcitycha movement. We’ve enjoyed meeting the folks doing good work in Chattanooga. This week we went to visit @crabtreefarms to learn more about the @kindheartscommunity mission, background, and passion. Follow @nationalparkcitycha for more. by @littlethingslab

We are a Collective!

Little Things Lab is a women-led community engagement and placemaking / placekeeping firm. Our talent pool consists of designers, urban planners, researchers, graphic designers, poets, event planners, communication strategists, and artists. We collectively value what we each bring to a project and curate project teams based on our client’s needs. Our team combines strategy, creativity, and action to connect people to the places that matter to them.

These women have been a huge part of many of Little Things projects. If you don't already follow their work you can now!

Honored to have been commissioned by @rivercitycompany to add color to their activation under the Olgati Bridge as a pilot for the One Riverfront plan. “Sportspot” is open from Sept 6th-12th and October 4th-20th featuring @whiteoakbicycle pump track, @dazeyskateco skating rink, and a pickle ball court! Check out rivercitycompany.com/sportspot for a schedule of free events. This temporary activation is a test to see if #CHA would like to see this kind of activity happen — instead of just a parking lot. Y’all come down and check it out. by @littlethingslab

Tis' the season where dreams become reality. Throwback to last year when our team helped bring life back to this alley commissioned by the @northshoremerchantcollective. We enjoy seeing places filled with people where art and connection meet. More night markets here, please. by @littlethingslab

We are here for all the forms of feedback.
We've seen the sticky note and dot method time and time again-- but hey, it works. This is from a project in Georgia and everyone we talked to at the tailgate provided critical feedback for the Creative Placemaking Master Plan we worked on as a subcontractor with @tsw_design by @littlethingslab
