2021 was 5 years ago. The last time we saw Vmax Secret Rare cards was half a decade ago as we celebrated the 25th anniversary 🧍‍♂️
-
I was originally wanted an heavenly beat to go along with these cards but then I stumbled across this classic that I haven’t heard in ages. Truly brought me back to times I thought were rough as we were all still gettting a custom to the lock down lifestyle and it’s after effects. Were you in the hobby during 2021 and the Pokemon craze that was happening?

The whole lot of aura giving Pokemon and it’ll take just a single Flabébé to eradicate their existence 🧚
-
They knew that adding Dragon Typing to the TCG was gonna have a kids losing their minds, I know I was when I opened a pack from Plasma Freeze and lost it when I saw the dragon typing on Latias EX 😵‍💫. Which typing had you more hyped up when it was introduced?

Nothing beats having amazing friends such as @amphy75_ in this hobby and being able to sell me some iconic shine! I wish I could pick up all he has for sale but I’m just your average salaryman. If you are looking for TAG TEAM ALT ART, SIRs, XY Full arts, & so much more I heavily recommend checking his page as right now he has some for sale on his story!
-
As of late he’s the reason I been able to add more gold cards to the binder and given me the chance to increase my Scarlet and Violet SIRs. Though I didn’t get my Tag Team trainers from him I just knew you’ll appreciate seeing them since they never made it to English! ✍️

I always viewed the Legendart Bird Trio to Lugia as what the Regi’s were to Regigigas when I was a kid. Then I witnessed a snip-bit of the trio jumping my homegirl and my whole viewpoint changed from there 💀
-
I love the idea that Team Plasma essentially captured every major legendary Pokemon throughout the gen 1-5 expect for Hoenn (if we ignore Deoxys). I truly wanted us to see a Team Flare set just like this and the boarders would have been red! Maybe in a different timeline 💔

Crown Zenith gave us truly the best gold cards we have ever seen, a beautiful send off for Sword & Shield if you ask me ✨
-
Though I love the concept of gold SIRs to be a thing, giving Pokemon such beautiful illustrations and then giving it the same pull rate difficulty as a HYPER RARE would be an absolute hellscape for the collecting community.

“Before you give into the darkness, beware that your Pokemon will follow you wherever you go and if you choose to walk down the Path of Team Rocket. Then your Pokemon may change even their inner typing, once that happens there’s no going back”
-
Man I wish I went the extra mile back in the day and picked up the Goldstars for a few hundred dollars each. I would totally be doing this stacking method to them if I had them haha, maybe I can do it with my 25th anniversary Goldstars for now

Everybody and their mom have been hating on gold cards for eons, though you gotta admit that these are pretty sick ✨
-
Man I really love how these Vmax cards honor the 2021 sets which makes sense, since they are from the high class set Vmax Climax in Japan. Except Eternatus is from a different set but felt fitting in this slide. Oh and Pikachu being a 2020 set lol

Missing the times when XY treated shiny Pokemon as part of the set and nothing crazy, made regular ultra rare cards feel like some insane hit 🔥
-
Do you think we’ll have some shiny Mega Pokemon appear in the High Class set: Mega x Mega Parade? I’m really hoping so as I would totally love to see their return, if not that then maybe Tag Team Megas would be pretty sick 👀

We still talk about you even long after you were gone 💔

Crown Zenith really was that guy, no one could of matched their greatness in terms of artworks, rarities, creativity, & even the generosity when it came to pulling a cool card. There was a time where we didn’t think we would ever see the singles rise or the sealed run out because there was that much of it. There was so much of it that people casually walked into stores and grabbed a tin or two of Crown Zenith so they can pull something and feel good that evening. May you rest well old friend 👑

I would of included Evolutions to the party but they’re just reprints of XY base & Flashfire 💔 ( a perfect excuse )
-
It truly sucks how we rarely see the Kanto Trio together in a single, maybe it’s so we don’t get tired of them. I believe the last time they were all together in one set was Pokemon Go (2022) then Cosmic Eclipse (2019) and then Generations (2016). Well at least it gives other goats a chance to shine ✨

Trying to raise the energy on your feed with Gigantamax Pikachu zapping you with 10000 Volts of electricity ⚡️
-
It’s so cool to me that this illustration just tells confirms that after leaving Jhoto, Red went off to travel to different regions and even had his Pokemon learn said techniques of the regions. I knew he did in Sun & Moon but this just further shows it 🤧
-
•(I’ll be including trainers on the final slide moving forward, so people can appreciate them like I do it)

Were you the type to collect the holos in Diamond & Pearl and Platinum or did you prefer chasing the Lv. X cards? 👀
-
I felt it was only fitting to showcase a few holo classics from the late 2000s for today’s post, now they aren’t PSA 10 conditions but it doesn’t change how clean these cards truly are. Raw over grades everyday of the week 🗣️
