Someone told me to go to h*ll. 🔥 Babe, I’m a Ukrainian mum with basic Dutch trying to test my teen on Dutch history. I already know what h*ll is. 😭📚

I’m reading the questions out loud, listening to his fluent Dutch answers, and desperately trying to figure out if he’s actually right. Who’s really being tested here? 😅

Any other expat parents surviving homework in a language you’re still learning?

Asked my teen 20 times during the day: “Fine.” “Okay, mum.” But the moment it hits 10 pm and I’m in bed reading, he’s ready to spill every detail from his day. 📖😅

You can’t pause it or say “tomorrow”. You just put the book down, hold back the yawn, and listen. Late-night teen chats are pure gold. 🌙

Does your teen do this too?

Overtime hours, zero days off, but actually the best job in the world. ❤️

My official daily duties: following mum everywhere so she never feels lonely, making her laugh when she needs it most, and showering her with endless love. 🥹🐾

What’s your dog’s official job title at home?

Some call it a night out with cocktails, we call it girl therapy. Cocktails, laughs, and catching up on everything.🍸✨

Send this to your bestie to plan your next cocktail night!

The JRT standards are very clear. No negotiations, no compromises. 🐕👑

Absolute NOs: 🙅‍♀️
🔴 Sharing Mum’s love with anyone else
🔴 Taking meds
🔴 Going on vacation without me
🔴 Getting my nails clipped

Immediate YESes: 🙂‍↕️
🟢 100% of Mum’s attention
🟢 Extra treats and human food
🟢 Traveling together
🟢 Daytime dreaming

What is your dog’s absolute ultimate “YES”?👇

It’s scary to go on a solo trip, but it’s even scarier never to go. ✨

What if I can’t communicate? What if I get lost? What if I feel completely isolated?

And yes, the awkward moments happen:
🔹 You look funny setting up your camera on a random ledge 🤳
🔹 You struggle to communicate in a language you don’t speak fluently
🔹 You make wrong turns and eat lunch in silence 🍝
🔹 Retaking a photo 10 times because your phone is crooked and your hair is a nest 😅

But somewhere between navigating a new city on your own and figuring it all out step-by-step, something shifts.

You gain your freedom back. You gain your self-trust back. You realise you don’t need a safety net to explore the world. You just need to trust that you can handle whatever happens. 🗺️✨

A solo trip doesn’t mean everything will be perfect. It means that you are capable of so much more than you think. 💪

If you only have 48 hours in Bilbao, make sure to do these 8 things!👇
1️⃣ @museoguggenheim: contemporary art inside, iconic architecture outside ✨
2️⃣ Hourly Fog Show: outside the Guggenheim (8 pm sunset is magic!) 🌅
3️⃣ Casco Viejo: walk the pretty streets of Old Town 🏛️
4️⃣ Eat Pintxos: try them with local wine at La Viña or Sorgínzulo 🍷🍢
5️⃣ Basque Cheesecake: grab a slice at @bascake.es or @morrinadgozo 🍰
6️⃣ See the Ocean: take the metro + walk (~1 hour) to the coast 🌊
7️⃣ Mount Artxanda: ride the funicular up for the best sunset view 🚠✨
8️⃣ Buy a Barik card: Save 50% on all public transport 💳🚇

P.S. Need dinner before 8 pm? @coppola_solomonk has a non-stop kitchen. Try the mushroom & cuttlefish pasta! 🍝

This is your sign to visit the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. 🇪🇸✨Watch till the end!

Not many visitors know a fog sculpture appears every hour! 😶‍🌫️ I loved @museoguggenheim so much I went back at sunset just to catch Fujiko Nakaya’s creation in that golden light.

Pure art magic inside and out, and heaven for real art hunters! 🖼️✨
