I am honestly in shock. never in a million years did I think I would ever make it to this point. I don’t even know what to say. I’m so proud of myself.

TW: mentions suicide attempts. because september is suicide prevention month and it’s almost over im gonna be a little vulnerable

ever since i was 11 i had a hard time opening up to people and asking for help. weather it was asking for help with my mental health, my emotions or with my homework i just refused to do it. when i was 14 things got really really bad. i decided to reach out to my therapist where she told me i was going to the psych ward. i pretty much immediately regretted reaching out. after bouncing from hospital to wilderness to residential for 6 months, i ended up in a long term residential where i stayed for 13 months. i was so sure that it wasn’t gonna work, i refused to give it a shot. i had many attempts there, i was hopeless and convinced i couldn’t get better. it wasn’t till after about 6 months in, the worst time if my stay, i decided that i needed to change. i put in the work, and i started my road to recovery.

overall in treatment i attempted over 5 times. i spent 2 birthdays, thanksgiving, christmas, halloween, and new years 2,000 miles away from my family just to recover.

now i still struggle with suicidal ideation almost everyday but its gotten a lot better. i am able to control all urges and impulses to do anything involving suicide or self harm. if there is one thing i learned from my experience is trust the process and the process will only work if you put in the work and if you are willing to recover.

so yeah anyways recovery is possible please reach out to someone if you need help i honestly don’t even think i would be alive today if i didn’t ask for help.
