I wasn’t really going to post this but it’s been tugging at my spirit ever since I stepped foot out of PV’s doors this afternoon. For the first time since I was 13, I finally went to Parkview to see my late brother’s memorial bench. I hadn’t seen it since I was 13-14 years old when my late brother’s graduation class graduated and the last time I was at PV was at his Senior’s Night game (where I walked in his place to receive his award).

I was a little nervous stepping inside of PV but once I did, (as my eyes started to tear up) I felt something peaceful come over me. As I looked over my late brother’s bench and his friend (Victoria Van-Pelt, RIP) sit side by side by each other in the Pit.. it brought back memories that only I know through stories of my late brother. As I walked through PV’s hallways and while walking through the gym, I often thought of what my late brother’s high school days were like when he was living, or where his locker was, or how he acted in his classes, how his friendships were with his friends & even his romantic interests or what his basketball practices were like with his coaches. On my way to PV today, I asked God if I should go visit Antony and he told me yes. It was hard but I did it. I think I needed that moment to myself to face my fears at my adult age that I am now because my brother didn’t get to live to be in his 30’s but I know that my brother is always with me. I don’t remember his voice, or his laugh but I do remember the good & bad times that siblings have with each other growing up. If anything, take notice of this.. because of my late brother HE is the reason why we all have AED in schools NATIONWIDE for athletes and still to this day, he is saving lives and for that I’ll always be proud to have Antony as my brother. When I see your friends, I miss you even more because I know you live in each one of your friends hearts and always will. I pray that they will tell their children or future children about you & continue to keep your spirit alive like I always will.

The best parts of being at my happy place/my peace at KAA is being around these amazing people. As this was my 3rd year as a Kaleo, it’s always a JOY to be around friends that have now become family even from afar. Coming together to worship and spend bubble bath with Jesus can give you a sense of peace, knowing, and belonging especially when you know you have God-fulfilled friends in your corner that also give you joy. ♥️🫶🏻

SN: I invited my bestfriend @tiarachiffon to come along with me to KAA and she LOVED it!!! As her first year as a Kaleo, I’m so happy that she was able to experience and love on God in a community that is a safe space and connect with different people from all over the world. Friends that help friends get out of their comfort zone are the best friends ever. ✨✨🦋

POV: The BEST life~changing experience at Kamp for KAA. 🤍 Loving all things Christ-Like. This week at KAA was the best experience ever as a first year Kaleo. Taking a leap of faith & trying new things will definitely enhance your growth as a person. So thankful for my first year as a Kaleo & meeting different people from all over the world. It definitely takes a village to become who you’re destined to be in God’s name. I really enjoyed myself & can’t wait to return next year as a Kaleo! Can I get a KAA?!
