We are you. You are us.

We will build this together.

End of an Era 🏡🥹 Saying goodbye to my first place I’ve ever owned, my safe little space where I rebuilt myself.
Emotional to leave somewhere so important to me but excited for the next chapter with @alex_prydo_92 🩷.
Moving house and doing an IRONMAN together within 10 days was the most stressful thing ever but somehow we are still smiling & dancing around the kitchen 💃 taken in Esher by @liv_mcculla

A week on reflections from IRONMAN 70.3 Alghero Italy 🇮🇹

🏊🏼‍♀️ 35:31 - Exactly where I wanted to be but had to really fight for it! Going against the current for the first half, in a washing machine at the buoys and no visibility on the way back 🙃 I also had a sub-secret goal of beating @alex_prydo_92 out of the swim. Highlight of the day was putting my shoes on in transition as he came through. bye! 👋🏻

🚴🏻‍♀️ 3:01:03 - Most proud of my bike! My target was to go around 3:15 but felt super easy and strong all way round - even on the climbs to Neptune’s Grotto! My fuelling felt spot on (60g~ carbs per hour) and extra sodium tablets to prep for the run. I don’t currently have a power meter so I was nervous about pushing too much, but this has given me so much more confidence in my bike ability! May have to think about actually buying some more speed next year 👀

🏃🏻‍♀️1:59:56 - Nothing comes for free! And I certainly paid for my bike on the run. After the first lap of three, I eventually got into a bit flow but I still walked through every single aid station to cool down, and walked up the hills (2 per lap)! I knew that I was still on for sub 6 hours overall, so I ‘allowed’ myself to walk when it got tough. I have the run legs, I just need to build my metal strength and focus on my performance in the moment instead of calculating the slowest run I’d have to do to still remain under 6 😅

🏁 5:48:01 - Happy and excited to see what I can do with a flat course!

🥂 2:30am finish time - obviously. Post race lash PB.

💙 None of this would be possible without @nickbrooks_tri who, amongst all his fantastic coaching qualities, fully understands I need a plan that works around me, my career & my social life. He pushes me to be better, but never at the expense of living life.

La dolce vita, it was not 🇮🇹
I think this gal may be more suited to Yorkshire than the Italian heatwave but WOW, I am proud of a 20 minute PB ❤️‍🔥

Bike racked, carbs loaded, shakeouts done, crew assembled and a ‘peaking’ training status!✔️ Time to pray to the triathlon gods for smooth seas, tailwinds and strong run legs! 🙏🏻
