I genuinely cannot believe there are now over 1,000 of you here!!

When I started this little book account, I honestly had no idea what to expect. I just wanted somewhere to share my love for books, talk about fictional men and find people who were just as obsessed with reading as I am.

I’ve met so many lovely people through this little corner of Bookstagram already, and I’m so glad I decided to start posting.

I have been waiting for this announcement for what feels like FOREVER!! I’m so excited to see Basgiath come to life, but I won’t lie, I’m also a little nervous because I have such high expectations for this adaptation.

Amazon has yet to confirm.

Started off the week with ‘you + me against the world’ over on prime! I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars

Finally finished ‘Fall With Me’ by Becka Mack, which was actually a pleasant surprise! My full review is up on my page.

Now I’m 20% of the way through ‘Breathe With Me’, the final book in the Playing for Keeps series. I won’t lie, I’m a little sad to be saying goodbye to these characters. 🏒

𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 - Fall with Me by Becka Mack | 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I actually enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would!

After really struggling with the first two books in the Playing for Keeps series, I was hesitant to keep going, but I’m glad I did. The first 10% was a bit of a struggle. I couldn’t quite connect with Jaxon or Lennon, and I really wasn’t a fan of Jaxon’s immature bravado at the beginning.

But as the story went on and we started seeing more layers to both characters, I found myself becoming invested and enjoying the book a lot more.

The frenemies-to-lovers roommate dynamic was easily one of my favourite parts. The constant bickering, deliberately getting under each other’s skin and the banter between these two had me sitting there smiling at my Kindle like an idiot. What I wasn’t expecting was how emotional some of Jaxon’s more vulnerable moments would be. There were a few scenes that genuinely brought me to tears, especially considering how disconnected I felt from his character at the start.

I also think these two had some of the best character development in the entire series. Watching them grow individually and together was what really made this book for me.

My biggest criticism, though, was the amount of smut. I don’t mind spice in my books, but I found it became quite repetitive, and at times it felt like there was just too much of it.

Not a five-star read for me, but definitely one I enjoyed, especially after being so close to giving up on the series altogether.
