Sometimes this job is late nights, long hours, and chasing problems until they finally behave.

Sometimes it’s standing in the rain, wind, dust, or heat, trying to convince a piece of equipment that today is not the day it gets to quit.

Sometimes it’s racing home alone to throw an extra subwoofer in the truck, then racing back to make soundcheck.

And sometimes, thankfully, it’s something entirely different.

Sometimes, It’s building a beautiful little stage for a dear friend's birthday.
It’s watching a space come together.
It’s putting records on the turntable as people arrive.
It’s being surrounded by good people in a little pocket of magic that somehow turns out perfectly.

The long nights and the hard days are part of it.

But so are these moments.

And those ones are pretty damn special.

@magugu1’s #NelsonBC debut was absolutely explosive 🧨

I [ @dubconscious ] was honoured to be invited on to DJ the set with him - from my early warm-up thru to the end of his performance, the crowd was fired up and calling for the reload 🔥

Live Harmonics, a production company based in the pristine Slocan Valley, is run by Mark and Khalin. These two special humans met in synchronicity over their love of music and live events. Intentional, percussion-led, and shaped by the Kootenay underground.

Mraki builds sets around movement rather than BPM, weaving global club sounds and diverse influences into a journey that meets the moment. When the room locks in, that’s where the magic happens: collective rhythm, shared presence, and care woven into the dancefloor.

Melodic, uplifting, and rooted in belonging.

We’re proud to present 'evolve': a sober-curious dance party rooted in presence, community connection and electronic music culture.

More and more, we’re hearing from people in our community who are re-examining their relationship with alcohol and other substances while still wanting to stay connected to the vibrant electronic music and dance scene that thrives here in the Kootenays.

So we curated an intentional, substance-free gathering that brings together the best of both worlds: a stacked lineup of local DJs, immersive sound and a dance floor without alcohol or powders — just music, movement and meaningful connection.

The Kootenay Wellness Foundation and Live Harmonics are proud to present ‘evolve’: a reimagined gathering for an evolving community.

As the 2026 edition of our festival approaches, the Kootenay Wellness Foundation is collaborating with like-minded community organizations to bring a series of pre-festival events to our region, creating intentional spaces for connection, movement & fun through accessible, community-driven experiences.

‘evolve’ is an alcohol- and powdered substance-free community dance party for people who grew up in rave culture (or feel deeply connected to it) but are ready for a more intentional and connected way of gathering.

Aligned with the beginning of the Chinese New Year, this event invites us to explore a healthier, more present relationship with electronic dance music, community, and ourselves.

Live Harmonics crew ran the Shambha-Lodgers night at Riverside stage before hopping over to work the Living Room Stage as daytime Stage Manager and Backline Tech.

Feeling blessed to have dreams become reality over here. Huge shout out to @hollyb1rd and @shambhala_mf for having us out at Riverside. Massive thank you to @lionitaspice and @hoola_and_the_gang and the entire @the_living_room_stage crew for being the most bad ass stage! Extra special thank you to our crew @_intothewilderness and Jamie for helping us out big time!!!

Favorite set, by far, was watching @honeycomb destroy the living room stage with the talk box dubs. He is a looping genius 🤯🤯🤯

It was an honour to be part of Harmony Festival last weekend.
