This Pharmacist Friday, we’re breaking it down with building blocks. Milligrams tell you the labeled amount in a package, while percentages tell you the concentration by weight of what’s inside.

Same label, two very different meanings, and knowing the difference makes it easier to shop with confidence.

Questions about reading a label? Stop by the counter and we’ll walk through them together.

What do those ratios actually mean?

Two products can have the same ingredients and still feel different. The difference is the ratio. Think of it like Lego. One green brick and one yellow brick is a 1 to 1. Three yellow bricks to one green is a 3 to 1. Same bricks, different balance.

A ratio plus the milligrams tells you what is in each piece, so you can pick a product that fits you and take the same amount every time. Start low, go slow, and ask us anytime.

Stop by Vigor and ask the pharmacist. Your neighbors at Vigor, family-owned and always happy to help.

One year ago, we opened our doors in Matawan. Today, we’re celebrating the people who walked through them.

To every customer who stopped by for advice, a recommendation, or just to say hello: thank you. You made this place feel like home, and we hope it feels that way every time you come in. There’s always a familiar face here and someone who remembers how your week went.

As a family run business, we answer to our neighbors, our regulars, and the community that welcomed us from day one. Every decision starts with one question: is this right for the people we serve?

Thank you to our incredible team for showing up every day with care and real knowledge, to the partners and vendors who believed in us from the start, and to the Matawan community for making room for us at the table.

Come celebrate with us tomorrow, Saturday, October 3rd, at our Matawan Day After Party with mobile axe throwing, the Good Mood Food Truck, and some of our favorite local businesses. Bring your friends and family.

This first year was yours as much as ours. Here’s to year two.

Welcome home. Always.

With gratitude,
The Vigor Team

“What’s the deal with ratio’d edibles?”

Three items on my table. Two different compounds. And three very different experiences — all decided by one little number on the label. 🔢

Here’s the breakdown:
🧪 T*C — the primary ingredient, the one most people know
🌱 CBG — a minor compound from the same plant, along for the ride
📋 The ratio — how much of one to the other

Two of these are 1:1 → one part T*C to one part CBG.
The blueberry lemonade pearls? 1:3 → one part T*C to three parts CBG.

Same category, same shelf, completely different builds. Ratios are the LEGO blocks of your experience — the pieces you snap together change what you get. 🧱

I can’t tell you it cures, treats, or prevents anything. What I can tell you is that reading the label is how you stop guessing and start choosing with intention.

So next time you pick up a package: flip it over, find the ratio, and ask your bud tender to walk you through it. 🙌

New Pharm Friday is here.

This week’s topic is one we get asked about often in the education room: what role can this plant actually play in cancer care?

The honest, pharmacist answer: because of its current federal classification, we legally can’t say it cures, treats, or prevents any disease. What it’s commonly leaned on for is supportive care during some of the more debilitating parts of treatment — things like disrupted sleep or pain.

Before reaching for anything, ask three questions:

What is the actual product in front of you?

How are you using it, and how frequently?

Does it fit around your lifestyle and consumption habits?

A repeatable, predictable experience starts with an educated approach, not guesswork. If you or a family member are navigating a tough diagnosis, we’re not here to sell — we’re here to provide real education and empathy.

Come visit us at Vigor, we’re always happy to talk it through. by @live_with_vigor
