Corrupted Disco Sector presents an evening of livecoded audio-visual sets, celebrating the queer history of house, disco, and all other forms and genres of electronic escape, celebration, liberation, and resistance.

Livecode.nyc is a community organization that promotes and organizes events for the art of livecoding: the performance of digital art and music by the act of coding, live, on-stage and in real-time.

Don’t expect a DJ playing back pre-recorded tracks; you’re more likely to see warped digital feedback on screen while a hacker sculpts abstract noise from pure functions into a meticulously engineered groove.

@LiveCode.NYC presents Cognitive Dissodance, an algorave. Performers will generate audio and visuals by writing code in front of you. Through their code, the audience is invited to watch the thought processes of a performer working through the concepts of cognition, dissonance, cognitive dissonance, dissidence, and more.

Let's explore the joys and sorrows of living life in the now by moving forward together through music, visuals, dance, and person to person interactions.

Join an orca livecoding workshop, no prior experience necessary! Two hours of workshop time followed by free play and feedback for those who want it. Orca, by Hundred Rabbits, is a two-dimensional visual programming language for generative midi sequencing.

Who is this for?
- Anyone!
- Artists and musicians interested in coding as play, to make experimental electronic music
- Livecoders who use other languages like Tidal/Strudel/SonicPi etc. and want to try orca
- Musicians who want to experiment with generative midi sequencing for improvisation, idea generation, composition, performance, with DAWs like Ableton, or soft synths, or hardware synths including modular
- Anyone interested in generating time-based events and control signals in midi, OSC, or UDP to connect with other environments like Max/MSP, Pure Data, TouchDesigner, etc.

What do you need to bring?
- Laptop (Windows or Mac) and headphones
- optionally, any software synth / app or hardware synth you want to sequence from orca

Workshop hosted by Eric Lee (easterner), who is an avid livecoder and audiovisual artist. Part of an ongoing series of workshops co-organised by @livecodenyc and @creativecodeart communities.

This time, @harvestworks & @livecodenyc collaboration event produced a lot of artworks, performances, and events at Governors Island NY, such as a beautiful nature wide place. @digianagroup was honored to work with great artists and communities concentrating on digital and nondigital merging style creations in this great opportunity. Thank you, everyone involving in this time! We hope to collaborate in the future again with fun things 📈 taken in Governors Island by @livecodenyc
