Keira LIVED!

Keira’s videos reached over 15 million people last month, and so many people keep asking about her.

Writing all the amazing things about Keira feels impossible because I would never stop writing.

So instead, I created this post for the people who know her and love her can share too.

I’ll pin it to the top of the page so new people can learn more about Keira through the stories of those who love her.

Keira lived a very full life in her 15 short years. Our family often jokes that we’re still waiting to reach an age where we can be as wise as her.

Did you see signs ahead of time?

As sad as it is, there were many signs ahead of time including her wanting to memorize the cup song…

”you’re going to miss me when I’m gone”

And of course we miss her!

Introducing the Keira Bradley Foundation 💜

Keira’s last day on earth, she was doing what she loved—SHOPPING. Yes she loved shopping and that day she was shopping for Christmas presents for foster children. Her last texts to me were filled with excitement about all of the stuff she had bought for the foster children.

Keira had a heart for the happiness of all people but especially children. She spent two summers as a camp counselor at Camp Rockin’ U, working with foster children that she fell in love with every summer. She would come back for one day a week and instead of resting she would spend the day shopping for snacks and fun night items for all the kids in her cabin.

The minimum age to be a counselor was 16, but at 14, Keira wrote a persuasive essay to convince them she was mature enough to do the job.. Keira always pushed to do things sooner, she was always making every moment count. She had the time of her life at Camp Rockin U leaving a lasting impression on her friends and the kids that loved her.

She never made it to 16, but her impact is far greater than the years spent here on earth. None of this is a coincidence—Keira showed us through her actions in life how she wanted her legacy to continue.

And so, with love and purpose, we have created the Keira Bradley Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to carrying forward her passion for helping children and families in need.

All endings are a beginning and this is the beginning of the next phase of Keira’s impact. More to come 💜

She was free. It was us left here to feel the pain.

This was very clear to me immediately after the knock on the door.

I could feel her with me and a ok sense of peace for her, but definitely not for us…

I didn’t really know much about this before she died. I never thought about the afterlife. This was just a deep knowing in that moment… Which I have zero doubt that she was right there with me in that moment.

There is so much peace in knowing that she is OK…and today I know that my family is ok too.

Her death has completely changed our entire family. We are completely brought to our knees, but also completely expanded to connect with Keira beyond her death and so much more has opened up for us, and that is a lot of what I share here.

Death is not the end…but also we don’t get to skip the pain of the grief.

Grief is a great expander…

Signs are so fun…Especially when we share them.

This week’s sign is flashing lights.

Maybe that seems like a strange sign, but it’s what I’ve been seeing all week anyway, so I thought, why not have all of you join in too?

I’ve noticed that signs often come in themes. I’ll go through a period where I keep seeing the same thing over and over again, and this week it’s been flashing lights.

So ask for them.

Simply say, “Send me flashing lights,” and then stay open to however they show up. It could be a flickering light, a stoplight, someone talking about flashing lights…anything goes.

When they show up, try not to immediately explain them away. Just notice them. Say, “Thank you,” and see what happens.

These are not coincidences…this is communication…

Our loved ones can communicate, and Keira proved this to me over and over with things I could not explain away.

After Keira died, it felt impossible to imagine our family ever going anywhere again without her.

But she kept sending signs and reminding us that we still needed to LIVE.

She kept leading us back to Hawaii, even though I did not want to go. I finally looked up the cost of the trip.

I immediately decided not to go. There was no way I was spending that much money to be miserable in Hawaii without my daughter.

The very next day, we received an unexpected check in the mail for the EXACT amount of the trip. It was a refund from a mortgage company we had in 2012.

She literally sent us the money 💜

So we went…and the signs continued.

And yes, it was hard.
But we kept looking for all the ways she was still with us…

People ask me how I see signs from Keira…anything to do with love is always her…this time there were rainbows and 22s on every shirt to let us know it was her…

All the magic is happening right now.

Being in the present moment has been essential for my healing and for my connection to Keira.

We are always right here, right now. The time is always now. But our minds can take us to the past or into the future.

Practicing coming back to this moment is what has helped me tune into everything around me. It’s how I hear and feel Keira. It’s how I’ve found peace and healing.

All the magic is right here when we tune in to what our lives are showing us and are willing to sit with whatever is happening. Eventually, I learned to trust the present moment, even when it was hard.

My heart can’t make sense of it.

How you can be here walking around and full of life and then gone…

And being “gone” never made sense to me. Because I feel my connection to Keira and I knew that she was not gone.

She had stopped living, but had she? Because she was showing me that she was still alive just not in the way I wanted her to be.

And this is why grief and death is so confusing. Especially for those of us that are connected to our children, to our siblings, our partners, our best friends, our pets, those we love who left their bodies.

Because we know that they didn’t just stop existing. Even if to everyone else they did. We know they didn’t and they show us this in ways most can’t imagine.

And this is why I share all I do. Because we need each other, those that understand. Not only the grief and anguish of the physical loss but that it sits side by side with this deep beautiful connection.

People can call it coincidence all they want.
I no longer believe in coincidences.

We are constantly being communicated with and the big signs help us see just how many small ones are happening all the time.

Keira sends rainbows but she also sends deer…
so why not send both just for funsies?

And of course Oliver has to be involved because Keira loves him and all of our animal friends.
