The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra has performed the world premiere of a piece of music written by inspirational composer Alan Bolt, while he was a prisoner of war. He settled in #Cumbria for much of his life. After his death at 100, his widow Alison asked the @liverpool_philharmonic if they might one day be able to play his unheard work ‘Overture for a Festival’. #music #liverpool #cumbria #barrowinfurness s @bbcone @bbcmerseyside @bbcnews @bbcneandcumbria by @liverpool_philharmonic

Lady Gaga’s The Dead Dance goes classical this Halloween!

Performed by Equilibrium… or should we say Freakilibrium? 💀

The string quartet, made up of musicians from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, have performed a huge repertoire of works by female composers, helping to address the gender imbalance in classical music programming.

And this Halloween, well, the undead have taken hold!🦇🎻 by @liverpool_philharmonic
