These two turned the MTR bench into a full-on clapping game and she just couldn’t hold it in 😂

Caught this on the way home one afternoon, school run hour. Whole carriage was on their phones and these guys were having the best time of anyone on the train. I had maybe two seconds before it was over.

GR IV, f/9, 1/30s, ISO 2000. Didn’t fix the hands. I like that you can almost hear the clap.

Everyone photographs the ducks. I waited for the man behind them.

5pm in Yau Ma Tei. The siu mei window was nearly empty: the last ducks of the day still on their hooks, the chef head-down at the chopping block behind the glass. I stepped closer until the char siu and the chicken fenced in his face, then waited for him to look down at the cleaver.

Shot through the shop glass. At 1/160s the hanging meat stays still, and f/3.5 drops the kitchen behind him out of focus.

Weekend at Whampoa. 黃埔的週末。

No one’s in a hurry here. Kids chase basketballs between towers. Old men fish like they have all the time in the world. A girl dribbles past her own shadow.

This is the Hong Kong that doesn’t make it onto postcards. The one that just gets on with it — quietly, stubbornly, on a Saturday afternoon.

For those who grew up with weekends like this — 你記唔記得呢種感覺？

Took my newly purchased @ricoh_gr_official GR IV too the wet market to take some shots.
.
Feels so cool and weird to use a digital camera again after a few years of only analog camera.
.
First impressions of the camera; it is SO discrete, I can walk up yo people close and take some shots, and the Snap Focus function is 🔥🔥
.
Second, So not used to take photos without a viewfinder 🤣 but then the touch and snap function is cool.
.
Last, it is so small, truly pocketable!!

Kwun Yum temple Hung Hom
.
Before I move to Whampoa-Hung Hom, never knew such an historic temple exist in the area. Visited the temple during the goddess’s birthday.
.
Didn’t expect the crowd to be quite big.
.
Managed to capture a couple of photos using my #rollei35af for memory purpose.
.
Random konowldege, google maps street view can enter the temple!! Try it to have a 360 view of how majestic the temple is~

P.s I recently sent away my rollei for repair on shutter issues, hope it get repairs soon so I can start taking photo again 😭

Random afternoon shots of Whampoa Garden area🌅

As I get older, my weekends are occupied by three options - gym, laundry, meal prep. Sounds boring but that is a life that I has accepted to have to protect my peace.
.
Sometimes I also wants to travel and explore, but no more energy and excitement, I also have reached creativity plateau on photography.
.
All I can think now is how to earn money fast enough and prepare for retirement - at the ripe age of 28, sounds far but a solid question to ponder given the bleak global geopolitics.
.
The peaceful environment in whampoa is stark difference to the stereotypical hk image, where people walk slow, talk softly, kids laugh happily. I like Whampoa.
.
Cheers to living at Whampoa for 1 full year 🙌
