Growth is real!🥹 Sometimes I don’t actually sit down and really reflect on all I have done and accomplished in my life. It’s really a long list and I’m grateful for every lesson I learned, every rejection, and every acceptance.

I’ve seen so much growth within myself and I love how I’m just ME. My nonprofit @nbtartsinc has pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone and to continue to put my best foot forward. Mistakes and rejections are made along the way, but that’s what makes the journey worth it until you reach your destination.

I have so many creative ideas and so much that I want to do! Trust me…we’re just getting started. Thank you everyone for the support, love, and words of encouragement over the years. 🫶🏾✨

Took a few months off but now I’m back again 🎤.

I took a much needed break from my business about 5-6 months to find my passion for it again and to realign things. It broke my heart a little to not actually feel fulfilled and always wondering if I’m doing what I’m supposed to.

God sat me down and said if you trust me you will not be forgotten and things will still work out. During my time off I was able to get more into the community, attend other events, find what i loved about this again and my why, and just observe everything around me. This idea right here (The Live Cypher) was in my heart for about a year and in 2026 I decided to make it happen.

3 months of curating and stress, sold out, 9 artists, live painter, media and production, worked with a black owned business to have the event, and a room full of love and support. I couldn’t have asked for a better event returning to the scene. ♥️🥹😭

What a time we had our first event of the year! 🎤

We challenged 9 artists outside of their norm to hit the stage @lydiaonhst and freestyle over beats made by DMV producers. These artists really did display the true talent and skills they had and put on a great show.

From our live painter, to our MC and DJ, and to everyone in the room we couldn’t have asked for better first event of the year. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible and all of our supporters.

Our Community Service & Arts Session day at the Fort Washington Park is happening THIS Saturday, June 13 (10am–1:30pm), and we’re looking for a few more changemakers to join the crew!

Yesterday, our sister Lauren, had the opportunity to be the lead volunteer at our Big Sister Starr’s community event. Starr (29-ΑΛ-19) is the founder and CEO of @nbtartsinc, Nothing But The Arts INC., provides a safe space and platform for creatives around the world.

NBTA partnered with MD Dept of Social Services to host a paint and pizza event to celebrate National Foster Care Month. Lauren demonstrated some painting tips like how to create contrast, mix colors, and how to use different brushes. Parents and children had the option of a freestyle canvas or a canvas with prints. Attendees said the event was informative, they were able to relax, and had so much fun!

My birthday was a packed weekend of different activities! If you know me you know I take birthdays seriously 🤣. I had a theme for everythinggggg literally 😂.
