Today is always hard. 7 years ago today I lost my dad to lymphoma, and 2 years ago I lost my aunt to leukemia. In my aunts final days in the ICU, in a medicated haze, she said she wished she could go on a motorcycle again. I promised her she would ride again, even if it’s just with me in my heart.

They both had CLL cancers, and having a blood relative who’s had it puts you at a 7x higher risk of developing leukemia or lymphoma. Having an autoimmune disorder increases that risk further. If I only have a limited time on this earth, I’m going to make it a life worth living. 💕
