Queer AF is known as the Queer Met Gala of Massachusetts. Located in the second-largest city in New England, our art and fashion show is the ultimate celebration of queer joy, uplifting bodies of all sizes and artists of all identities, and serves as the annual fundraising gala for @love.your.labels, which supports trans and queer youth!

This year’s theme recognizes the complex history of denim, a textile that symbolizes labor, resistance, reinvention, and style.

Q (@living4q), star of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” (@rupaulsdragrace) Season 16 and a contestant in the upcoming season of “Project Runway” (@projectrunwaybravo), was born, raised, and still makes the occasional fabulous appearance in Emporia, Kansas.

Known as Robert Severson off stage, Q lives in Kansas City where he works as a drag queen and costume designer full-time. He returned home to celebrate Pride by emceeing and performing in a local drag show (hosted by @queeryearround) last Saturday alongside Kansas queens Mulan (@gbcouture1), Isabella Valenciaga (@isabella_valenciaga), and Raychel. Afterwards, I interviewed Severson for the inaugural installment of the series “7 Questions about Kansas” for The SHOUT (@shoutwichita) 🥰
