My body changed after having my second, and honestly, so did I. There are days I grieve the mum I was before, the one who could get on the floor without thinking twice, who didn't have to plan every outing around pain. I grieve the mother I thought I'd get to be. But grief and love can live in the same place. I'm still here, still adapting, still finding new ways to show up for my kids even when my body won't let me do it the way I imagined. I'm not the mum I pictured, but I'm trying my absolute best to be the one they need. 🍒🦓🐠

Made it to my friend's hen do yesterday, even though my body had other plans. Spent most of the day sat down or leaning on my stick, but I wasn't missing my friends hen. By the end, my knees, hip and lower back were inflamed, hot and angry at me. Came home early, needed help in the bath and getting dressed, then strong painkillers and straight to bed. This is EDS. Showing up however I can, even when it costs me. So grateful for friends who get it and never make me feel like a burden 🩷🦓
