Been hiding since you fell off? Me too. For two whole days. 🤍

We were opening the Green Door Community Store, and I got overwhelmed. Legit overwhelmed. And the old me would have stayed gone. Too embarrassed to come back. Waiting for the perfect way to explain it.

But here's what I know now. Hiding is just another way of staying stuck.

So this morning I put my vibration plate down in front of my mirror, turned on "I'm Coming Out," and sang to myself like nobody was watching. Because before your mind gets unstuck, your body has to move.

You don't have to explain why you left. You just come back.

Competition and comparison killed our community. Collaboration is how we bring it back. 💚

Back in the day, we had one place where we brought everything together. We bought from each other. We laughed with each other. That’s how Black Wall Street was built.

So that’s what we built at the Green Door Community Store.

It’s not one person’s store. It’s the community’s store. Skincare from @themellowbar Juices from @thecityjuicery. Total Package products. Apple pies, eggs from a Black gardener, popcorn, soursop, journals, jewelry, vitamins, and so much more. All under one roof in 37208.

It’s more than the man. More than the money. More than the kids. 💛

All week we’ve talked about the three things that can crush a woman. But they were never the real problem. The real problem is that we’re carrying all of it, all at once, by ourselves, while trying to look like we’ve got it together.

You’ve seen the headlines. Women are breaking.

I’ve been that woman. Smiling outside, falling apart inside.

If that’s you, here’s where you start:

1. Say “I’m not okay” to someone you trust
2. Put down what was never yours to carry
3. Come back to you. Rest. Be soft. Be seen.

Mama, who told you that you had to be the Savior? 💛

I used to think carrying my kids’ problems was proof that I loved them. Their struggles. Their bills. Their choices. I carried all of it. And my body held every bit of that worry.

God showed me something different. Stop confusing love with responsibility.

I've been there. I had a man tell me to pull my own little red wagon. It stung, but it woke me up. I was waiting on somebody to rescue me.

My ex called me today to tell me he’s getting married. 💛

I spent almost three years trying to prove I was enough for him. And today, for a minute, that little girl in me asked the same old question. Why wasn’t I chosen?

Then God reminded me. That question only shows up when you’ve made somebody your meal.

Nobody can be your meal. Not him. Not the next one. You have to learn how to feed yourself first. Who you are. What peace looks like. What healthy love looks like for you.

So I’m not hurt that he moved on. I’m grateful I did too. My plate is clean, and I’m ready for what’s next.

Can I tell you the best advice I ever got? Stop waiting for permission. 💛

For years I waited. I waited on my family to clap for me. I waited on my friends to share my posts. I waited on the people who said they’d support me to finally show up. Some of them never did.

And while I was waiting, I was stuck. Stuck in my mind, stuck in my body, stuck in the same place year after year.

Here’s what nobody tells you about being over 40. You’re not stuck because it’s too late. You’re not stuck because of your weight. You’re stuck because you’re still waiting on somebody else to say you’re ready.

Baby, you’re ready.

This weekend I sold out every copy of my book to women who didn’t even know me. Today I’m standing in front of doors I used to think would stay shut. Not because everybody finally believed in me. Because I finally stopped waiting for them to.

So let me ask you. What door have you been standing in front of? A business? A healthier body? Leaving something that’s been holding you back?

Today was my Sabbath, and God let me minister to a room full of women who came hungry.

They didn't know my story, so they didn't judge it. They just received it. And every single book sold out.

Sometimes the people who know you best can't see you clearly. That's okay. Keep showing up for the ones who can.
