not the thing i was expecting to be a post of mine any time soon at least, but i’ve taken some time to do it.

my dad had suffered from a heart attack coming from a blood clot coming from his leg, these events led to unreversed amounts of brain damage that would leave him none other to be pronounced as braindead. days before he would peacefully pass on july 24th 2025.

someone who in recent years put himself in certain situations that made him isolated and in bad health, had gracious memories made for others lives, that being stuck with this version of a person seemed taboo. making me remember what was true to his heart. having also been a son, a brother, the in-law, a friend. the biggest smiley face collector you’d ever know, a subordinate to animals as well as a lover of them, the neighbor next-door who’d give your kids stuff, and so much more i might not even know. but at best, he was anthony for all 54 years lived. headstrong, talkative, opinionated, selfless, approachable, and most definitely witty.

this past month has been a wish-wash of emotions, memories and reactions that would have been normal to experience once coming back from something like a three-week trip to italy—now is drowned in guilt. grief better yet. i wished every day that we had gotten to spend this time with him, soon turning to going against the average adolescent defiance and wishing i would’ve done more with him when he wanted to, forcing my dad to have done better for himself. but with the mind of his own, all i can do is live and bring myself to the idea of who he was in his entirety. cherish the best, recognize the worst, appreciate what’s been done. forever grateful for the family and friends who have been aware and there for my mom and i, all my love to everyone. ❤️ by @livsanee
