Happy New Year! 💗 My word of the year is intentional. This year I want to be intentional in all that I do. One of my children had a poem to memorize last year. It was about working and playing. In some seasons of life it is so easy to walk through filled with joy, singing praises, and giving thanks. I am not in one of those seasons. Everyday being thankful takes mindful practice. We many never have answers to many of life’s difficult questions and sorrows - at least while we are here in earth. “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Patience is one of the fruits of the spirit I wrestle with. When I allow myself to get angry, discourages, or disappointed it usually points to a lack of patience (and grace) on my part. We are entering the preteen years in our house. Sorry, we have stomped, screamed, and slammed our way into the preteen years. Every time I look back on an episode that I could have handled better I realize I should have exhibited more patience, humility, and grace. All those days of waiting for littles to use the potty all by themselves and buckle up all by themselves we’re just practice runs for the patience I would need for all the future, “all by myself” transformations that would be coming our way. So here we are prayers and patience.

With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Today my daughter begged for the “18” song. It took me a while to realize that she meant she wanted to listen to one of our Seeds Family Worship CDs, specifically the song “Crushed” which sings Psalm 34:18. This!!! I can’t tell you how happy it made my heart 💗 that she was asking to sing Bible verses. I highly recommend all their CD’s. Such and easy and fun way to memorize scripture. It will bless you and your littles. “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

My husband loves plants, flowers, and gardening. I appreciate all of these things, except for the actual gardening part. I forget to water indoor plants I see daily. I know that one day I will be able to join him in this hobby, but right now my focus is on kids. Thankfully kids let you know when they need water. 😘 A few years ago my husband bought me this plant as a gift. My heart sank. I knew we wouldn’t keep up with it. It would die. He would be hurt that I didn’t look after the plant he bought me. He could see my concern. This week my kids and I have been blessed by our church’s Vacation Bible School. They have learned so much, made so many friends, and had a blast. I have been blessed with peace and quiet as well as one-on-one time with my youngest. So thankful for those who go along side us to full our kids with God’s Truth and Love. This was their Bible verse for the week. “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.”

I thought we were moving into a new season of life. But God had different plans. We are expecting another baby. A blessing from above. I want to enjoy every bit of this season.
