Flores Azules Oil on canvas 2023 This new painting marks the end of a mini painting series I started in 2020. The series was inspired by a dream I had one night, I don’t remember much of it but only that Cardi B came to me and told me to make works that pop. (lol). So I began by sourcing striking or popular imagery of statues or sculptures and paired them with images of plants or floral textile prints. I manipulated the images in photoshop, and used saturated colors as a filter to obscure the original images. I may come back to this series in the future but for now I will pause while I re-visit my abstract works again for the first time in 5 years. . . . #lizafeurtado #oilpainting #floralpainting by @lizafeurtado

Beginning of what seems to now be a style i’m enjoying making. Through layers of paint, forming texture and this organic, aged look. 1. \\_spring, acrylic on MDF wood, 2018 2. This is a really fun piece. I sourced an image and photoshopped the model so that her entire face/body was masked with an image of a red blood cell. I printed that image and ink transferred it onto a canvas, then painted over that. A good ol’ digital/analog fusion.
