This painting was a lot of trial and error, but I ended up really liking how it turned out! Next time, I’d do a few things differently—like using a darker base color and mixing in different shades of purple and blue to add more interest. I always like to think about what I’d do differently after each painting, even if I love how it comes out, because I learn so much that way. 💫

Flowers are the perfect beginner-friendly painting subject! If you’ve been considering learning how to paint I highly recommend painting flowers. Here I’m using gouache which is somewhere in the middle of watercolor and acrylic! You can try this with any paint that layers from dark to light. 🌼

P.s. has anyone had an issue with their reels being glitchy when you try to change the look of the captions? I can only use white lettering without the border or else it’s a glitchy mess.

A tiny painting that feels like Fall 🍂 using @meeden.art 4x3 inch watercolor paper. I used washi tape for the trees and a square that I cut out from an egg carton to make the marks on the trees. Hope you enjoyed the process 🫶🏼

Some things I painted (but didn’t film) 🎨

Painted this before my baby arrived!

My first time painting a study and I had so much fun. I used gouache that I dried into pans and tried to keep things loose which is a struggle of mine.

In love with these colors 💗

Everyone loves this sketchbook for watercolor but I’m just not sure about it. Maybe I’m just used to the watercolor paper in my regular sketchbook but paper is so smooth which means I don’t get the same blends and texture. I’m really enjoying using gouache in it though!

I love painting flowers but sometimes I need to remind myself to try painting other subjects instead of staying in my comfort zone!

lol more flowers, but a different style!

The tutorial is a little different for me! I had fun playing with acrylic markers 🌈
Experimenting with new materials is one of my favorite ways to get out of a Creative rut. You can use any type of paint or marker that layers from dark to light to create this bookmark! Hi! 👋🏼 It’s been a while. I have a new boss and he’s 3 weeks old 💙
I was gifted this beautiful watercolor palette by @paulrubensart and managed to carve out some creative time while my little guy was napping. Nasturtiums are one of my favorite flowers to paint and I love how pigmented these watercolors are!
I’m hoping to be more active on here soon! The products I used for this painting are tagged 🫶🏼 My detail brush is a size 0 round brush by @princetonbrush and I used a size 3 tigger brush by Simply Simmons for the vines, I wasn’t able to tag those!

Sometimes you just get the urge to make a cute bookmark 💗
If you want this to last longer I’d highly recommend laminating it! I tried to add some more info about how I mix my colors into this so I hope you found that information helpful. As mentioned in the video, I’m using traditional gouache paint, I used acrylic gouache only for the background! You can use any paint that layers from dark to light for this project (sorry, watercolor won’t work!)

I’ve been short on time, energy and patience lately but I still wanted to make time to paint. I decided to get this 4x3in watercolor paper to make tiny paintings and I’ve been loving it so far 🎨
Less paper, less paint, less time, still the same amount of joy! And tiny paintings are undeniably cute. I want to practice some watercolor landscapes next ✨
