This race hit differently. 🫶🏽 From the moment I started running, the emotions came flooding in, because this is my happy place, my happy sport, and it reminds me how alive I feel when I chase what I love. 💛The Marine Corps Marathon wasn’t just a race; it was an experience. Every mile was a reminder of why I do this.💙 Ramon — my rock, my love, my constant push when I need it most.🐾 Ruffo — my fluffy companion and sweetest love, waiting at home to celebrate (and probably thinking the medal is his).👀 And… ZOOM IN on the fourth photo, my motivation squad was with me during the race as a reminder that they’re always by my side:🤍 My Dad, the strongest person I’ve ever known.🐶 Ruffo and Rocco, my dogs, one in dog heaven, their loyalty taught me strength.💙 My Ramon, my one and only, my love.💐 My Mom, example of love.Crossing that finish line meant more than a medal — it meant honoring my squad, and me, with every step. 🥇I ran with heart. I finished with gratitude. No planeaba postear esto, pero se me salió del corazón. Si me sigues sabes que hablo de carreras, de Ruffo, pero hoy también es esto. 🥹💛Hoy me cayó el veinte de algo que no había querido ver.Mi papá ya no es esa persona con la que podía estar una hora en el teléfono. Platicando de algún juego, contándole mis aventuras, y él solo riéndose del otro lado.Ahora esas llamadas duran 5 minutos. Y si me dice “hola mijita, ¿cómo estás?” eso ya es suficiente. Eso ya es un regalo.Nadie te prepara para este tipo de duelo. Según yo correr iba a salir más “barato” y con menos sesiones… 😂Pero resulta que es:• Tenis de correr: $$$• Inscripción a la carrera• Geles• Correr mínimo 3 veces por semana• Fisioterapia semanal• Y terapia para entender por qué gasto tanto en correr. 🤡🏃🏻‍♀️ by @lizmarrufo

A retomar la rutina con todo. 🏃🏻‍♀️Pero antes de arrancar, me quedo con un pensamiento que me llena el corazón: ¡Viva México! 🇲🇽🇲🇽Gracias, @miseleccionmx , por regalarnos este último mes lleno de sueños y unión. Me hicieron reafirmar que México siempre será, para mí, el mejor país del mundo.
