Grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful gathering at the Impact Leadership Conference & Awards 2025.

The theme — “Building Institutions That Work: Youth as Watchdogs and Reformers” , was a timely reminder that sustainable change begins with systems grounded in integrity, accountability, and courage.

It was inspiring to connect with brilliant minds, passionate young leaders, and fellow reformers who believe in a future we can all be proud of.

Not all risk is the same. There’s a real difference between a calculated risk and a gamble, and knowing which one you’re taking could save your money.

A gamble is a decision made on hope; you don’t fully understand what you’re getting into, and you’re betting on an outcome you can’t influence.

A calculated risk is informed; you know the downside, you know what you can afford to lose, and you have a reason, not just a feeling.

Before your next investment, ask yourself honestly: do I understand this well enough to explain the downside as clearly as the upside? If not, it’s not a risk. It’s a gamble.

Save this before your next investment decision.

If you don’t know the difference between risk tolerance and risk capacity, you could be making investment decisions that hurt you financially , even if they feel fine emotionally.

Risk tolerance is emotional ;how well you sleep when the market drops. Risk capacity is financial, it’s how much you can actually afford to lose. Confuse the two, and you either take on more than you can handle, or panic-sell out of something you could’ve actually survived.

Here’s the gut-check to run before you invest: ask yourself two separate questions :”Can I emotionally handle this if it goes wrong?” and “Can I financially survive it if it does?” If either answer is no, that investment isn’t right for you , no matter how good it looks on paper. by @lizzie_oris
