In 1941, Irving Berlin wrote a song called “When That Man Is Dead and Gone” about Hitler. It’s a song of hope that someday that evil man will be dead and gone. The song was basically forgotten for decades - recorded by only a handful of artists, including Al Bowlly who was killed in a Nazi airstrike only 2 weeks after recording it. We’ve been performing it as our closer for over a decade. Suddenly this year our version went viral - with over 15 million views 🤯🙀!

🔥New Song Alert 🔥

We’ve spent years trying to come up with a genre name to describe our sound - and we finally found it. So what the hell is “Resistance Swing”? It’s the sound and swagger of big band….but married to the rage of punk. This time the revolution will be decked out in sequins and vintage suits - because we are determined to put the “fashion” in fascism 💅

We won’t sugar coat it - we are living in f*cked times where the people in charge want to see us miserable, joyless, and hopeless. But Lizzy & the Triggermen is here to restore the hope & joy with swinging bangers about everything from douchebag tech bros to predators finally getting their karmic due.

Here’s a peek at a recent live performance of one of our original songs (“Savonarola Stomp”) that is going to be on our next album.

This isn’t a moment in history for artists to sit on the fence. We’ve chosen our side - now time to swing this country back to sanity!

WELL……Looks like it’s time to post this one again. (For no particular reason whatsoever).

We just hit over 🎉21 million 🎉views on “When That Man Is Dead and Gone” across social media (in just this past year)🤯🙀 Hmmm, wonder why soooooo many people are resonating with a song written in 1941 about Hitler??? Must be a lot of History nerds out there. Yeah, that’s it.

In honor of all of the love this song has received, we have decided to release a studio version of it. (🎉Coming soon🎉). In the meantime, a live version of this song is available on our last album, “Live at Joe’s Pub.”

If you are looking for swing music with a heavy dose of RESISTANCE that is unafraid to say FUCK FASCISTS, welcome! Oh and we swing our asses off :)

I just got back from 2 and a half weeks in the UK and Ireland surrounded by some of the most gorgeous nature. I kept thinking how INSANE it is that humans want to destroy nature. But then I had a thought…I think humans want to destroy nature because we fundamentally don’t understand what our place is in it. Every other living creature knows its purpose in nature - and goes about doing that with zero existential angst or neurosis. Meanwhile it’s like humans are dropped off here with no instruction manual - and we are utterly clueless. Our knee jerk reaction is to dominate and control nature instead of understanding how we fit in with it.

I’ve been day-dreaming lately about how humans could design a different and better life for ourselves that mimics the eco-systems of nature. Where people work in harmony doing what they feel drawn to do - as opposed to one built on people being forced and exploited. There’s a permaculture guy named Mike Hoag (@transformativeadventures ) who has spoken eloquently on designing human ecosystems - check him out if you have time!

Anyway, those are my deep thoughts for today! Hope you are all well!

WE JUST HIT OVER 21 MILLION VIEWS on “When That Man Is Dead and Gone!” And Meta *finally* monetized us, so now maybe we will actually make some pennies off of all of our hard work (and not just hand it off to Zuck).
