October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

Over a year ago, I had the honor of hosting my first-ever podcast, The Birth Seat, with @blackmothersinpower, where we spoke about Teen Dating Violence raising awareness, sharing resources, and reminding survivors that they do not have to suffer alone.

Sometimes, the people who smile the brightest and love the hardest are carrying battles we may never see behind closed doors.

So this month, check on your people. Check with sincerity. Listen with compassion. Don’t judge. Don’t assume.

Be a safe place. Be a voice of encouragement. Be a beacon of hope. 🕯️

Last Saturday, after the One Africa Diaspora Gala, I overheard my girl, Lizzy Mayaki, encouraging Clewell Anderson to read my book, Healing Without Shame. I quickly pulled out my phone to capture the moment. 🥹❤️

Moments like this remind me that Healing Without Shame is so much bigger than me.

What began as a desire to be a voice for the voiceless and a source of strength for those who feel powerless has taken on a life of its own. I am continually humbled when people pull me aside at an event, send me a message, or call to tell me how the book has touched them, encouraged them, or even changed their lives.

Those moments mean more to me than I can adequately express.

I didn’t write this book for accolades. I wrote it because I believe people deserve to know that they are not alone, that their pain does not make them a spiritual failure, and that there is no shame in seeking help.

So, when I see someone recommending the book to another person, it reminds me that God can take what we offer Him and use it in ways we never imagined.

All I can say is: Thank You, Lord. 🙏🏾

If Healing Without Shame helps even one person feel seen, find hope, seek help, or realize that their story isn’t over, then it has served its purpose.

To God be all the glory.

Two weeks later, I’m still reflecting with gratitude after hosting one of the most fulfilling events of my career as a professional MC. ❤️

The 2nd Annual Woman Restored International Women’s Brunch was truly something special, and I left feeling deeply fulfilled.

A BIG shoutout to my sister and friend, @onyeje_i ! ❣️

To every woman who attended, God bless you! 🙏🏾❤️ Thank you for being intentional about showing up and being fully present. Your presence, energy, love, laughter, and participation made the experience even more meaningful.

This was more than a brunch. It was a beautiful gathering filled with love, laughter, encouragement, inspiration, sisterhood, purpose, and restoration.

I thank God for the opportunity to serve, and I pray that He continues to perfect everything concerning the Woman Restored vision and the beautiful assignment He has entrusted to you, Onyeje.
