I was picking gooseberries this morning, and there were some whoppers. The biggest are about an inch top to bottom.
However, I had to stop when I reached for another big one and saw the sight in the second photo.
Research suggests that it is a dunnock nest. by @ljb16

A few shots from the allotment this week.
Strawberries 🍓 need to ripen. The artichokes and apples 🍏 are growing. The gooseberries are early. The 10 rows of potatoes 🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔 are planted and a plant from the 1st earlies will be lifted soon. The shallots and elephant garlic 🧄 need weeding, but that's a task for this weekend. by @ljb16

Pulled up a parsnip that weighed in at just over 1kg.
It turned the head of a visitor to the allotment, before it flew away. by @ljb16

Found the Alaskan Brewing Company in Juneau, AK. Had to sample their wares that we hadn't already had on the ship. 2 Smoked Porters (6.5%) and an Alaskan White (witbier, 5.3%) and Alaskan Kölsch (also 5.3%). by @ljb16

The latest in an occasional series.
A visit to Brewdog in Southampton saw us consume their 3 stouts: Sabbath 5.0%, Black Heart 4.1% (1 & 1/2 pints), Rocky Road 6.8% (2/3 pint) and Mad Scientist's Blackcurrant Trifle (fruit goze) 8.4%. All were very yummy, and their flavours matched their names. by @ljb16
