I’m always a bundle of emotions on release day. That heady sense of having accomplished something huge is mixed with the nervousness of handing my baby off to other people to read and enjoy (or judge). But this book has an extra dose of emotions tied to it, remembering how I worked on it at Steve’s side in hospitals and rehab rooms and in between home therapy appointments. It was always a cathartic release every time I worked on it, but it’s also a painful reminder how much our lives has changed. Our current round of hospitalization has made it even more bittersweet.
So, it’s with tears and a heart squeezed tight that I finally give you Andie and Cooper’s found-family HEA.
But maybe an overdose of emotions is the perfect way for this story to enter the world, because Andie’s past deserves those strong feelings. And the way Cooper invites her into his family and his soul deserves it too.

I want you to feel a sense of triumph when the good folks win and their hearts are glued together. I want you to end the story with a little ache that means you’ll miss the characters a bit. My books are open-door, slow-burns with a steam level of 2-3. A few higher, not much lower.

While this is my suggested reading order, you can truly start with any series and any book in the series and be okay, as I do my best to write each book as a standalone. So start with the one that appeals to you the most, and go from there. Content Warnings are available on my website.

WHAT DO WE HAVE IN COMMON? It’s been a while since I’ve done an “about me” post, so I thought I’d jump in and say hello and ask if we have anything in common. Making real connections with other human beings who love music and books on this wild ride called life seriously makes my heart happy.

I really loved this book! Andie moves next door to the sheriff and his son. Cooper, the sheriff, is rightfully apprehensive about his new neighbor. Gorgeous or not. When Andie becomes convinced the sheriff is hurting his son, she doesn't hesitate to stand up for him.

Suspicions, a stray dog, and a difficult past make this an incredible story with lots of heart and humor. by @ljevansbooks
